Perceived wisdom suggested that it was a device to keep small teams down...their squads would be even less likely to cope against the 'Big Guns' if they couldn't wheel and deal through the season.
Well,I'm beginning to think the inability to refresh one's squad at will is actually a great leveller.The 'Big Guns' are unable to go out and buy big to improve their squad (after all,that was never an option for the smaller teams,so what they never had they don't miss).
So,it's a good thing ,in my view,.....let's see how good these highly paid managers are when they are unable to flash the cash.
All of which might explain the poor results recently of you Mancs and even more so...the Scousers.
Anyway,hope you all had a good Christmas ( I certainly did ).
