Stuttgart are determined that striker Kevin Kuranyi will lead their challenge for honours and have promised to resist all efforts to prise him away from the Gottlieb-Daimler-Stadion.
Kuranyi has made a trail-blazing start to his first full season in the Bundesliga.
The 20-year-old has 12 goals in 18 appearances in all competitions this season and the calls are growing for Rudi Voller to make him a member of the German national team.
But his current contract has another 18 months left to run and Stuttgart are planning to offer him a new deal to keep him at the club until 2007.
General manager Rolf Russmann said: "Kevin is not for sale. We need him because we have great aims ourselves."
Stuttgart are fifth after 15 rounds of matches in the Bundesliga.
