Discounting any new defenders joining us, who would you prefer?

Blanc-Brown?
O'Shea-Gary Neville?
Silvestre-Blanc?
etc

I would pick Blanc and Neville

Blanc-Neville is the best of the current squad but........
When we move Gary into the centre is leaves us exposed on the right side so the face remains need to sign at least two defenders.

FACT not face

After some initial hiccups, Blanc and Neville actually played quite well together for a good stretch of games

Hence I think they are the best pairing

Blanc-Brown

Brown indeed played quite well in the last few matches of last season. He can still improve, while Gary Neville (almost) can't.

blanc and gaz... btoh vocal and reliable. have wes and micky on da flanks

Blanc-Brown - they started playing well together towards the end of the season.

Was chatting to my mate in the pub last night, and he reckon Keano should be moved back. I don't like that idea, but I can see his points:

1) He's a good CB, and more importantly a leader

2) Give Veron to prove himself as the main midfield player

None taken.

New Player/Gary-----Gary/O'Shea/New Player-----Larry-----New Player

Ideally speaking of course.

And I don't mean Garylifo, nor do I mean any disrespect to Phil Neville either.

Not a bad idea, Gaz/Blanc/Keano/Silvestre looks more solid than any we can come up with in the current squad. Butt along with Veron?

Like it, just wonder how shattered Brown/O'Shea would be (can't be bothered about Phil, he is bloody useless anyway).

I don't like taking Keano out the midfield myself, but I can see it being a decent option

Keano isn't a central defender and never will be. He's far too small to be a central defender, played there last year for a game or too - didn't look revelationary, and is basically trumped up by United fans who think he's Mister Do it all. You might as well put him up for goalkeeper too. Kinell, just buy a centre back (preferably one who's played their most of his career) and leave Keane where he is.

I agree, but we are working on the premise that we won't buy. If our option is spending 30m we won't/shouldn't but there are much better options around. Let's shop.

Great!
This what I hope for. :)

If we don't buy I would still never advocate moving Keane back.

Gary-Larry without a doubt. With Wes and Mickey on the wings

Wes - Blanc.

Really would like to see Wes fulfill his potential, considering that Fergie has so much faith in him and Fergie has not been wrong often.
