Where's the crisis now scouse?

Oh dear, oh dear, two games and no goals!, hammered off Chelsea!! You still have to play all your championship rivals away and have yet to play Arsenal in the league. Add to that your bottom of your group in the Champions league, and dispite being top of the English league, and this being your first season in the Champions league you fail to fill your small stadium. You also sell your most popular player to a close championship rival.

In contrast United who have won their last two games with six goals without conceded any, given the fact United only have one fit recognised centerback. United have played 6 of the top eight away from home already, sit at the top of their group in Europe and never fail to get less that 67,000 at OT every game. We sell one of our most popular players to a foreign team who is then banned for 10mth.

All this and you think we're in crisis?

You're in crisis..

6 defeats in the league already
An inability to beat any of the better sides
One of the worst defences in the league
Barthez in goal
A 28m White Elephant who only performs in games where you don't need him
Your most talented player left out of the squad and yet to sign a new contract
Your manager leaving shortly
And your fans cock a hoop with 2 wins in a row against Derby and Boro

Unlucky

interesting about our defence, we have a better goal difference than pool (goals scored tipping it)

says a lot about Pools ability to score goals doesnt it  <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

it will do seeing as our next seven games are against crappy teams, while all the other so called title challengers are going to be playing each other!

:p

Every club goes through a dip in form. We've already had ours and are just now starting to play with some consistency. You haven't had yours yet. The next month should say alot as to how far you can go in the league this year. If after January 12th, you have an 8-10 point lead then I would say that you will probably win the league. But if United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Leeds are bunched together in mid January then it favours us because we would still be in the thick of things after having weathered a very bad patch.

We also had the ability to score goals that year. You have one striker with a dodgy hamstring.

How do you know your dip is over?

You've only beaten Boro and Derby....would you bat an eyelid if Spurs or Fulham did that? Would you think that they were on some kind of run?

We have got a tough run at the moment thats true, but we've all got to play these tough games at some point..we'll have an easier run later in the season...

We can afford to lose the odd game..

You can't

davo we also know how to win the premiership, your lot dont.

if we take over you i cant see you coming back again, phsycologically blowing a lead like that can ruin teams.

look at newcastle, its took them 5 years to get back to third and they wont be staying there

It's impossible to say whether our dip is over or not. A good indicator is that we are not making self inflicted mistakes of late. We're scoring an adequate amount of goals and not conceding very many. Something to build on.....

We know how to go on a decent run when we need to...a run that results in the team winning things, where every game is of huge importance

That will stand us in good stead..

You're still no where near us remember... ;)

United lost 6 games
Liverpool have lost 3

This was our first lost in 12 premership games

Two games ago you lost at home to West Ham....

Your run has started against 2 poor teams who find scoring goals a problem..

Not the best indicator for a good defence

You miss the point though. Our achillies heal all year has been a series of mental errors by a few players, which have cost us dearly on the table. Our defense has settled down, we're scoring an adequate amount of goals, and most importantly - our confidence is building. It's alot easier to get motivated when you're not at the top.

Either case, you can't overlook your striker problem. Who's to say that Owen's hamstring wont go out again and for a longer time. Then what ?

You hadn't lost 6 games by Dec when you caught Newcastle..

And you were capable of beating the odd good side..

Keep your belief.. ;)

Than we might as well give up because we're a one man team

Well we'll just have to see eh? There's little point in you continuing to say how your defence is now so great and me responding by pointing out the poor goalscoring abilities of the teams you've faced recently....lets just see how things go on that front..

We've won without Owen several times this season....I'm sure he wouldn't have made the difference today....of course we miss him tho when he's not playing....there's only a handful of players in the world who can adequately replace him..

Pleased to hear it....

....well I'm not actually at all, I'm just being nice... ;)

You'll note that I didn't say that our defense is great - just that it's settled down recently.

Yeah I know...

But the points the same....we'll have to see how settled it is when tested

Yeah we are better at thrashing crap teams because we are not defending 89 min against them. You get one long ball he scores 1-0 everybody is happy.Remember we are the champs and we still gonna be.

Ah so sometimes we can live in the past can we....

When it suits us.

We don't always win 1-0

If we fancy embarrasing someone we can...

E.G. You lot at Anfield
