It feels like it's been coming for a few games now. Spurs could've been 5-6, ommonia could've been 6-7 and yesterday we could've scored 5 on another day.

Either when we buy an actual CF, or when we hit a few lucky shots. We don't have the personnel to be scoring loads.

It's coming, but I think we're more than one step away yet. Our xG is generally not that differently from the goals we score in most games, so we're not making hatfuls of chances that we then miss. I think the building blocks are there for sure, our early build up is as good as it's been for a while but the chance creation isn't quite there.

We might win a few games 3-0 this season, but I expect to get a lot of 1-0/2-0 results until we get a proper striker. We don't create that many chances to be winning more, it's not about finishing.

We won't get a chance to play a team as rubbish as Sheriff again in the near future. Total value of 13m, plays in an 8 team league in Moldova, flood gates should have opened yesterday.

This is a bit wrong to be honest as we 'should have had 5-6 at Spurs' and probably 2 up at Stamford Bridge too. We are coming into our 'easier' games in the League up to the World Cup now. To be honest I'd love goals but I'd take winning everyone of them 1-0 as it means we've stopped losing games that we expect to win and it would really prove the current 'turnaround' we seem to be having. I do expect us to bag a lot of goals though as hopefully those teams won't defend as deep as Sherrif. Howver a good sign that last night we really should have scored 5 with the chances created. Thinking Ronaldo fro Bruno's head down and Scott's header as the main 2.

Should have been 6 if Ronaldo had his shooting boots on. It will come.

When Martial is fit, I expect.

Quite possibly this weekend. Rashford desperately needed that goal and it was a great header. It’s probable now that he goes on a decent run of form.

We need a killer CF, I think that much is obvious.

You look at the City game (3-6) and the consensus was we were battered but part of that is their efficiency in-front of goal. Everything they hit went in!

In the games you mentioned, we were the opposite. It takes us 4/5 good, solid openings to score one goal on a regular basis. That has the knock-on effect of allowing teams to build confidence and play themselves into a game.

It's really obvious but if you're clinical and score early, you demoralise the opposition and can rack-up some big wins

I think it's going to be a continuing theme that we don't finish teams off decisively. We have a lot of players up front that are works in progress, or have a history of being flakey. The manager can't click his fingers. He can get us playing better, creating more to give us better odds, but he can't do the end part for them. We might smash someone if it all comes together on a particular day but we won't be routinely dispatching sides.

Throw enough shit i'll stick eventually seems to be the way
You mean you don't mind even if we don't score don't win just to give him more game time so he might find his lost scoring boots again?

Just curious are you one of his fans?

These same players can be more efficient in the attack. They need to move together, coordinate their runs, and trust each other more.

Antony for example needs to start pushing the ball to the goal. Runs behind the defense, ten Hag mentioned this ability but we need to see it more. He should source more crossers from the top too and use that right foot. Shaw and Dalot are both doing well in support, they are both game, but the wings have to play better.

Also when the ball is moved in front of goal limit your touches. Pull the trigger.

They do not push in transition enough either. How many times a game do they pull back on the attack and let the opponent get in their structure, it is maddening.

And yes more Martial. Hopefully in the final stretch we will see him available. We do need him for the big games ahead.

A number of players will have to develop a killer instinct for us to become a high scoring team.

huh? no.

im saying thats his way of playing lately

I don’t necessarily agree with the claim we won’t bag a load of goals until a new striker comes in.

Lack of confidence from 6-8 yards (Rashford/Ronaldo), lack of accuracy from outside the box (Bruno/Erikson).

They pros we have are competent to be finishing the chances they have been presented with. Just need to do it.

The longer Martial is out, the more the expectation on him seems to increase.
We do have to remember his last few seasons most of the forum seemed to constantly be moaning about him and many dismissing him.

Hope he hits the heights but he's only had a couple of decent friendly performances and been out most of the actual season, so it's all to be seen how he can do for us.
