Do you notice every season we seem to be linked to a player from one of them but it never ever happens? This isn't a "complaining" thread at all in light of Pedro, I just noticed the pattern. We seem to very often get linked to their players and sometimes looks all but done, it just never goes through.
When did we last sign a player from one of them? I may be missing a really obvious one. (Valdes was technically signed on a 'free')

Thiago, Fabregas, Dani Alves, Pedro, Ramos, Coentrao. Bale & Ronaldo too, but I don't think anyone ever took them seriously.
