Are there any negatives to announcing Ten Haag(assuming he's the choice) asap?

Should we wait till the end if the season?

Our season is done anyways. Give the new boss an early start on next season I say. Even if he wants to finish out the season with Ajax it will be beneficial to have him keep an eye on our team and give his opinion on potential incoming and outgoings.

Announcing it once he's completed the rest of Ajax's games or has mathematically won/lost the competitions he is left in. We've nothing to play for on our end so wouldn't matter.

I would suggest we announce the new manager at the end of the season but failing that, we should announce them when we have actually agreed something.

Currently it doesn't sound like we are that close to getting anyone tied up.

At the end of the season, anything else is unfair on Ajax. He might have already told his staff and players for all we know but we should try and avoid interrupting their season if we can.

ASAP. Our season is pretty much over. 9 more dead rubbers.

As soon as it’s agreed it’ll leak. In fact we’ll know who it’s going to be before pen is put to paper. So it’ll just happen as a result of that, whenever it may be.

Once the decision is made and the compensation agreed there is no reason not to announce it. We will want to start negotiating with potential targets and that is going to be difficult if they don't know who the Manager is going to be.

half time show during wwe summerslam. unless we’re announcing one of the wrestlers as our new manager. then it should be written in to an ongoing drama between them and a rival wrestler.

As soon as people can be bothered to spell his name correctly.

City announced Pep’s appointment in early February.
After which their season plummeted which our season already has so no reason to hold it off unless we believe we still have a chance of making top-4.

Reminds me of when Chelsea announced Scolari during Euro 2008 group stages and he was still Portugal manager.

I would say the best time to announce it would be a day or two after it’s confirmed whether or not Ajax have won Eredivisie, which could be as late as 15th May. It’d probably be the worst kept secret in the world by that point though.

Depends. Bayern Munich announced that Heynckes would leave in 2013 to be replaced by Pep, and yet they went forward to win a treble with and for Jupp. In our situation, I see no problem in making the announcement at any time soon since we know Rangnick's interim tenure as a manager is ending.

If Ten Hag is announced to leave Ajax and join us before the end of the season, it has the potential to either become a distraction or Ajax or spur them on to win the title on his last ride. I believe that Ajax are in the second category and will win it all for him.

The players might have something to play for though if it’s announced before the season finishes… the players that actually want to stay might try and impress the new manager. Also it gives the manager a chance to see what positions we desperately need to upgrade.

I don't see any advantage to announcing it during the season. What's the point? The incoming manager will have a job to do elsewhere and Ralf has a job to do here. Not sure it is advantageous for anybody to announce during the season.

When both clubs have agreed it's OK?
(Assuming we're hiring a manager under contract?)

Well apparently Utd's official YouTube channel is making a right prat of itself. Just hope Ten Hag doesn't see us as a joke and run a mile like Klopp did.

It should be done as soon as it's done although for United it doesn't matter if it's announced until the end of the season. Everyone already knows Ralf is just temporary so he was already undermined since the very start and going without bringing players in January made things even more clear for him. Already knowing who's going to be in charge next season would just help to clears things out and remove further speculation over the manager position but would change very little in terms of how the team performs.

As long as it’s ok with the club you are hiring the manager from then I don’t see what is wrong with announcing it asap.

In the end they just made it into the top four that season on goal difference. I know our situation is different in that we know Ralf is an interim manager and there'll be a new one coming in but we still have a chance of qualifying for European football so the club would probably prefer the players concentrate on the remaining games even though a number of them have already zoned out as they know they won't be here next season anyway so it is a bit of a mess.

When he signs on the dotted line and agrees to it.

Forget all the nonsense and leave out the speculation, just get it done and leave it at that.

* subject to us not sacking him between six months and 18 months because the players didn't like being told what to do.

Get him to sign the contract asap. Then can announce at end of season, so it doesnt affect him with Ajax, or vice versa. There will be other clubs sniffing around him I think.
