I'm a guitar head. Love my punk and metal, indie guitar bands they will always be my listening choices.

However if you have to pick something that nearly drives you to tears or other emotions as one song what would you go for?

I could list a whole lot including Bridge over Troubled Water etc but I saw this performance a while ago and I just can't beat it.

 
Bridge Over Troubled Water is up there for me too. It’s a beautiful song.

But for a favourite, I’m going to say Red Light Spells Danger by Billy Ocean. It doesn’t matter what mood I was in before listening, it always makes me happy.
 
Halloween Be Thy Name is probably the song I've listened the most to, but the days where I would call it my favorite song is likely behind me.

Time and Shine on you Crazy Diamond are songs I regularly cite as favorites. Thick as a Brick, but that's an entire album so feels like cheating. Our fortress is Burning Part II and In the Shadows of our Pale Companion are other songs that would make a top 10. Today I'll go with Time.

I won’t do the whole genres thing, you asked for favourite song. I like my metal/ rock so give me anything slipknot, lamb of god, machinenhead etc but my fave song I always go back to is deacon blue - dignity
