Abysmal. The three ODIs played against Sri-Lanka were catastrophic. Total flops.

And some Pakistani newspapers are now raising match fixing stories. IMO, Younis Khan is inadequate as a captain. Field placings and bowling changes are a joke.

I'd say the tags of mercurial, inconsistent and unprofessional belong to Pakistan.

Pakistan have certainly produced some of the most talented players in the World. However due to poor discipline on and off the pitch, lack of unity, disregard for training and preparation for matches have been their downfall. The cricketers need to realise and understand they need to approach the game in a much more professional manner in all areas - basically everyone has to toe the line. For this to happen the whole ethos of Pakistani cricket need to change.

Pakistani press has always used match-fixing as a convenient excuse for the teams losses. Captaining Pakistan team must be the most difficult jobs one could undertake in sport. I feel sorry for the guy in charge. Imran Khan was the only one who had any grip both on and off the pitch.

The guys are amazingly talented. Aaamer and Ajmal are fantastic. But the batters are not disciplined.

Yoosuf failed in one test and the first ODI. He's been dropped. Imran Nazir is supposed to have joined the team for the one dayers. His fielding alone merits him a place in the side. And Jamshed. He is a joke. But he is playing!

What I want to know is where the British Pakistani cricketers are.

Whenever I used to play in the nets, there were always about 10 Pakistani kids in the other nets, bowling unbelievably fast and accurately, nine-year-olds bowling sadistic leg-breaks at each other etc. What happened?

It is a bit strange; you would think there would be far more British Asian cricketers in the county game.

There are plenty in the club leagues.

Yorkshire are reaping some benefits with a few in their ranks.

Others seem to attract bad company. :nervous:

Are you deleting you posts?

I know some ridiculously talented kids in the Asian community, but they're just not interested in going to that next level. Me thinks they hate being around establishment and coaches.

Selection process in the Indian sub-continent is highly dubious. As we know other influences come into play.
