Whats the word on Mass Effect 2?

TBA 2009 is the only quote really.

Keep in mind that BioWare are also busy with their upcoming MMO.

I see, can't wait for it to come out.

I like how they say we should keep the saves of Mass Effect 1 because it will have certain outcomes in the second...though I dont see why we would delete the save anyway:D

And the way number one ended realy has left the second wide open for an awesome game....I just completed it :D

TBA 2009. Though I remember reading somewhere it will be the tail end of next year, probably end of Autumn time. That's probably changed, but whatever the release date it's not soon enough. If you haven't already downloaded the bring down the sky mission then that will keep you busy for an hour.

Nice to see someone who really appreciates it, easily GOTY 2007 for me and so far the best game in the current gen IMO.

About the whole saved files thing - I dont see that happeing to be honest, bare in mind that many people who pick up the second game will have not played the first game so really, if there's sort of link it would be quite minor I reckon.

While you're waiting pick up both novels:

Mass Effect: Revelation - a prequel to the game

Mass Effect: Ascension - acts as a bridge to Mass Effect 1 and 2

Both great reads and gives you a personal insight into some characters you've come across in the game.

So do you all recommend purchasing Mass Effect?

Might look out for it. Should be cheap by now, right?

I keep saying this but it really is one of the best games of recent times. You should slap yourself silly and shave off that silky blonde hair since as a 360 owner, you are not in possession of this game.

Regarding the saves:

From Wiki: Casey Hudson, Project Director for BioWare, has said that players should keep their Mass Effect save-files, because decisions made by the player in the first game will continue to have influences on their character in the sequel. Players who have not played the first Mass Effect will start a new character in Mass Effect 2, and will be brought up to speed on the story elements that have taken place thus far in the series. It is highly recommended, however, that people play the first game before playing the sequel. Hudson also states that characters from the previous game will return, provided that they were not killed.

Could go either way I guess, will be interesting to see how it will work aswell.

Nice one about the books, shall check them out.

Definitely agree about the books, astonishingly good quality sci-fi. Easily on a par with the two Eric Nylund penned Halo books.
