What do you guys think Ricky should do next?

There is talk of a fight against Oscar de la Hoya at Wembley. This would mean another big money fight for Hatton, but he would have to fight at Welterweight again. For me, this would be suicide for Ricky - Oscar has fought as high as Middleweight.

Junior Witter has been calling out Hatton - he's currently the WBC Light welterweight champ.

I think Ricky should stay as a Jnr Welterweight. Problem for him is that he's not going to get the big money fights in that division.

I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch with Mayweather as I think Hatton could beat him, but I don't think Hatton did enough on the night to deserve one.

He couldn't, he can't and he won't.

Hatton vs Mayweather

Rematch

Oscar De La Hoya supposedly wants to fight Hatton, can't see Hatton beating him tbh. He pushed Mayweather quite hard and can't see Hatton defeating him. Would be a good match though.

I think Junior Witter will be his next opponent or maybe someone else leading up to him, possibly Paul Malignaggi.
Witter is now the WBC Lightweight champion and is British. Witter wants to fight him and although Hatton wasn’t interested before he probably will be now. Plus the British public will demand it. The problem with him going back to Lightweight is there is nothing else for him to archive and other then the Witter fight there's nothing else out there.
I think Hatton is still good enough to be a champion at Welterweight but he jumped too quickly at the deep end fighting the best fighter out there. His only other fight in the welterweight division was against Collazo and that was a struggle, he should have had a couple more fights at welterweight before fighting the best, I reckon he should still do. If he has 2 or 3 fights at welterweight and win them convincingly a rematch with Mayweather might not be off the cards, though still very unlikely. And with Mayweather saying he will take 2 year out :wenger: this is the best time for Hatton to stamp his authority on the Welterweight division.

Its out of Paul Malignaggi, Junior Witter and Oscar de la Hoya. I think the Oscar fight at Wembley will happen I know it would be at Welterweight but money talks these days.

A fight against De La Hoya would be suicide. Oscar is a former Middleweight world champ so he's wont have any problem taking hattons punches. Yes, De La Hoya is getting on but looks at the shape he was in and the performace he put in against Mayweather.

Witter is the WBC Light Welterweight Champ. He was calling out Hatton before he lost to Mayweather.

I would love to see Hatton knock him out.

Hatton got 2mil for beating Kosta Tszyu. He got 10mil for loosing to Mayweather.

Thats the key, for me. At this stage of his career, Hatton should be looking for paydays. He's no longer unbeaten, and has already cleaned up in his natural weight division. Time to reap the rewards.

Witter would achieve little for Hatton. Almost a no-win situation. If I was him, I'd take on De La Hoya, pocket another £10m and retire win or lose.

Thankfully Hatton is about the glory of sport rather than the lure of pocket. The lifestyle he leads, do you really think he's motivated by cash?

His next fight has to be Malignaggi at Maddison Square Gardens, it's the right weight, it'll sell tickets, and Hatton will win

The worst thing Hatton could do now would be to step into the ring with a Del A Hoya or a Cotto. He could do with taking easy pickings to boost his confidence, a fight against Junior Witter would be perfect.

He could be the new Moonchester....

Great imput.

Hatton could beat him. Who knows what may have happen in a rematch with a ref who lets the fight flow.

Don't be a feckin duffus he got beat by a technically gifted boxer who's in the sugar ray and hearns class. Rickys got heart but he simply couldn't live with maywheather - who by the way has beaten better fighters than hatton -
the fight told its own story.

If you want to delude yourself by blaming the ref then you do that, true fight fans know that hatton simply isn't is floyds class, never has been never will.

Its interesting to see how many people are still blaming the ref. At the end of the day the ref had feck all to do with Mayweather knocking Hatton the feck out.

As hard as this might be for some of you to hear but Mayweather is Champions League and Hatton is Championship level in comparison. I dont want that to sound like im slagging Hatton, but rather its more a compliment to Mayweather cos hes so far ahead of everyone else its untrue.

Will definitely go down as one of the all time greats....

Hear hear!!!

Hatton’s only chance, all be it a slim one, was to try and rough Floyd up in the early rounds and try and knock him off his game. That didn’t happen because the ref kept splitting them up. That’s why the crowd were booing and why De La Hoya at ringside was berating the ref. Though im not blaming the ref, he didn’t do anything wrong - its just braking it up didn’t favor Ricky and his game plan.

Im not doubting Mayweathers talents, he will go down as a legend. But every dog has his day, upsets happen. Think Hasim Rahman and Lenix Lewis, Randy Turpin and Sugar Ray Robinson, Lloyd Honeyghan and Don Curry,

I aint saying that that Ricky would have beaten Floyd, i think Floyd would have been able to handle it, but who’s to know?

Is Hatton seriously after a rematch?? What did he do to deserve one? feck all.

Mayweather would just outclass him again! Go away Ricky and fight at your level.
