It wasn't a wind-up.

A wind-up would need two pre-suppositions

1. That such a player existed
2. That there was the remotest possibility that said player would be signed by us.

Everyone knows Fererro Roche is not a player but a chocolate.

Therefore not a wind-up

It was some light-hearted relief.

And besides its a good probability that someone at United has made a £5.99 bid at some point. Better than some probabilities posted on the TF.

I thought it was funny - fair enough some kind of quality control is required but there should be some room for amusing threads in the footy forums

If anyone thought it was a serious attempt at a WUM in the United forum it would have attracted an infraction I'd guess.
