Wev got so many cricket experts here, im sure you all play a little as well.
Iv only played for my school team, no further. Opening right hand batsman, and occasional medium pacer.

Right handed Batsman, with a Dravid like Repuatation of being the wall n all.
Wannabe Spin bowler but medium pace it is.

Played in the Lakeland league (UK)...wicketkeeper-boring opening left handed batsman. Now on the scrap heap.

hehe
I was pretty Dravid like as well.. trying to be technically correct an all. My medium pace wasnt bad, but my action was fecked up.

i have scored and did an umpires/scoring course.

Why exactly?
And whats a scoring course? As in, how to maintain a scoreboard?

it was run by county association, you learnt the laws of the game and how to score a book properly.

very interesting, you think you know cricket but thi course opened my eyes. there was 7 other girls on the course too out of about 25.

only cricket i've ever played is online stick cricket :(

Fast bowler. Loved running in from distance and bowling as fast as I could. As a batsmen I was a dasher, but I could defend if I wanted to. The drive was my fav shot.

I can bowl, but am a fairly cr*p medium pacer. I can't bat, but try hard. I can field really well though as I am fast as lightening. Hmmm, I guess I'd be someone like Paul Collingwood then. :(

I'm a shitty bowler, best described as a slow bowler (not a spinner because it barely turns and not a medium pacer because it is just slooooooooow). I'm not a decent batter either but I have been known to play the very very very rare decent leg-glance. I'm a shite fielder aswell... In short a complete liability!

Was pretty quick a few years back..opened for the colony team :) Could bat both right as well as left handed..loved to play the lance klusener hoiks while playing leftie.Could bowl spin left handed.

The first time I bowled I tried to develop Kumble's action, got pretty close.Used to imitate all the bowlers..

Which school did you go to?You still in Univ right?

Used to love playing cricket but our school didn't really bother much as they were obsessed with football and shitty Rugby. One time I remember was our teacher was telling us to defend every ball that was bowled, I kept smacking them over the bowlers head, classmates were egging me on to keep going as they were loving it but had to stop as he gave me a right bollocking for that, in the end I decided to try and block but got out trying to defend lol, it would of been nice if they had bloody taught us how to defend instead of just giving us a bat and asking us to defend! Also we had no protective clothing on either so was scary at times facing the ball, especially when it was short on a fuller length lol.

Owais Shah went to my school as well, think he must of practised a lot at a cricket club which was quite near my school as we hardly used to play cricket at school!

DPS.. yup im in college.
Havent played for ages though, earlier it was every single day.. i remember in the vacations we used to play almost 7 hours a day.

I used to play for a local u 15's team, and my school team. Am thinking about trying to get into my local team, but am not really sure how to go about it.

Im generally an allrounder. Im a pretty decent right handed batsmen, but also quite a good spin bowler, but i can also decent at fast bowling.

I was more of a medium-fast with the abilty to deliver knee shattering beamers,as my mate would confirm was lbw though.craig mcmillan type batsmen with the odd warne like woft.

Right handed middle order batsman, love the cover drives.
Right arm medium pacer.

RKP? or the shitty one ;)

It is but not to the same extent as other sports.

Fast bowling is as demanding as it gets. I've had shin splints due to it, also back problems. You need to be very fit and even then your body is not meant to take that much toil.

hehe..the shitty one, Mathura.

you don't think it's physically demanding?
Not really, especially when you compare it to other sports. I mean most of my life crickets been the only sport iv played, but whenever we play football or basketball, we barely last half an hour. You dont really need to have stamina or be a good athlete to play cricket.. it does also have to do with us becoming lazy buggers now, but generally cricket isnt as demanding. You bowl an over which is tiring, then your standing in the field somewhere with a little running to do now and then. While batting, you have plenty of time sitting around.

Actually 'a' is quite correct.

Applaud him for his efforts..its not everyday he digs out his brains to form a grammatically comprehensible sentence.

Mainly a batsman...had some nice strokes on the off side, good cover drive and my speciality was cutting, particularly nice late cut. Rubbish with anything on leg, and way too defensive...was once in for 30 overs and scored 8...that's what they call "anchoring the innings"...I think they were saying "anchor" anyway...

Was good as a kid, got worse as I got older...in one lean year I perfected the art of seamlessly turning a forward defensive into folding the bat under my arm and walking back to the pavilion

Could bowl fast-medium on a good line and length, useful against tail-enders but increasingly carted against anyone decent.

Haven't played for years...went in the nets a bit recently and couldn't get the ball to bounce. Depressing.

The other one's a fecking factory..

Poofs and horny ugly females go to DPS.
Bitter eh?
You'll never see and met more fit looking girls than in DPS RK Puram.

Well, if it wasn't for the total lack of co-ordination I'd have been a good middle order batsman, but as it is.... If I hit the ball it got hit, but more often than not I'd miss.

I wouldn't say that I could bowl either, in fact calling me a slow bowler is an insult to bowlers every where.

As for fielding, the above mentioned lack of co-ordination meant that catching the bloody ball was as difficult as hitting the thing. Mind you, I'd throw my body infront of the ball and stop runs no problem.

Reading the above has made me realise, that I pretened that that I could play cricket, rather than play the game.....
