The all time Serie A and La Liga teams are scary good. So many possible combinations.
Every team needs balance! Look at Real Madrid when they sold Makélélé. From 1st in La Liga and CL semi-finalists to 4th and getting knocked out by Monaco the next season. You don't need balance when you have Maradona, Zidane and Ronaldo in your team

Comical.Ronaldo - Van Basten

Mainly because Serie A teams have struggled in The CL since Inter's 09/10 treble. Juve had 2 good runs at it a few years ago.Serie A seems less contentious than the Premier League, a lot of legends that it would be hard to argue against. Also nobody active from the past 10 years is really beating the 80s and 90s legends, can only think Pirlo, Ibra and Totti are in with a shout and even then they’re more 2000s legends than post 2010
This team still wins current Seria A.Taibi
Darmian
Smalling
Stam
Evra
McTominay
Veron
Beckham
Zirkzee
Rossi
Ibrahimovic
When you are a goat, you can everythingA lot of people including Ronaldo though, Haaland has played 8 more Premier League games for City than Ronaldo played Serie A games for Inter and pretty much everyone would agree it’s too early for Haaland for the PL. Can you be in an all time XI for a league playing only 68 games for Inter and a few well past it for Milan?
You somehow made a mistake here, OP. You need to start the thread with a series of unnecessarily complicated fancy words, while avoiding their fully functional well-known synonyms.
Literally this I think. It's tempting to try and to fit in someone like Zanetti, Scirea, Baggio or Gullit but in the end this would be my team as well.Ronaldo - Van Basten
Platini - Maradona
Rijkaard - Matthaus
Maldini - Baresi - Nesta - Cafu
Buffon
For many fans his early years are the pinnacle of their football experience. His games for Inter, alongside Maradona performances in the second half of the 80's and that of peak Messi, are as close as you can get to transcending the game itself. If Haaland would've played like that and not just scored a lot, he would've been routinely mentioned in PL's all-time XIs as well.A lot of people including Ronaldo though, Haaland has played 8 more Premier League games for City than Ronaldo played Serie A games for Inter and pretty much everyone would agree it’s too early for Haaland for the PL. Despite him being the best Italian attacker (or even player — depends on how highly you rate defenders) at least since Meazza...Baggio not even mentioned yet.
True, he only played 19 games that second season though and I was too young to remember it well but have vague memories of him not being that good in the CL against United that season. When you are a goat, you can everything
His first two seasons in Inter were out of this world. And remember, he played there in golden era of Seria A and against best defenders in the world.
Closer comparison is probably Suarez in terms of best ever PL seasons, he is top 3 but hardly anyone puts him in their team either and he played more than Ronaldo. If you think of the impact of Ibrahimovic, Baggio, Batistuta, Totti, Nordahl etc, it's high competition, then you wonder if his games which is less than 2 seasons worth, is enough.Literally this I think. Yeah I'd have Vidal as well over Gattuso, Davids too. Gattuso was a pretty limited playerGattuso doesn't hold a candle to the likes of Matthaus, Rijkaard. I'd have players like Simeone, Desailly, De Rossi and Conte ahead of him too.
He's more iconic than an actual great, imo.
You could make a second and third team almost as powerful(not really, but still insanely good). Serie A had a comically large number of legends.Buffon
Nesta, Baresi, Maldini
Zanetti, Rijkaard, Gullit, Nedved
Platini
Maradona, Ronaldo
That's the thing though, you keep comparing him to mortals. Suárez was world-class and you can make the case for his peak to be the highest out of all of the Premier League strikers. Ronaldo was not though, he was ethereal, there really wasn't anyone like him before or since, it seemed predestined that he would become the greatest of all-time... before the injuries happened. Even Messi (undoubtedly a better and a greater player overall) had a more grounded career trajectory during his formative years.Closer comparison is probably Suarez in terms of best ever PL seasons, he is top 3 but hardly anyone puts him in their team either and he played more than Ronaldo. Will only go with players I saw regularly.
Buffon
Zanetti Nesta Cannavaro Maldini
Pirlo
Nedved Zidane
Kaka
Ronaldo Batistuta
You have Maradona, Platini, Baggio, Zidane, Rivera, Sívori... that's just the Ballon d'Or winning trequartistas that peaked in Serie A, all competing for a single (or two if you're generous) spots. I haven't even included Gullit and Nedvěd who both played there as well. Kaká's peak was magical but it's hard to compete against the best of the best.I'm surprised you're the only person who included Kaka. His reputation died when he went to Madrid but he was absolutely supreme in that FC Milano team from 2005-2009.
What? Care to elaborate?R9 wasn't at his best in Seria A so that's why not included.

97/98 was his best season.R9 wasn't at his best in Seria A so that's why not included.
