What is your favourite Sergio Leone film?

Fistful of Dollars. I'm usually partial to the first movie of a certain genre or director(Johnny O'Clock is one of my favorite film noirs and Band of Outsiders is my favorite Godard film). The scene where Clint Eastwood comes back after being injured is epic. The music swells, the dust clears and he's standing there. Excellent stuff.

Having said that, I pretty much love them all. Once Upon a Time in America is probably my least favorite of his actually.

A Fistful of Dynamite. Coburn, bitches.

Once Upon A Time In America......I don't know if I'm saying this so the pattern or this thread continues or I mean it -_-

Once Upon A Time In America is one of my favourite films in any category.

I think my favorite has to be The good, the bad and the ugly, even if it is about 3 and a half hours long. Just love the scene where Blondie and Tuco re-unite on that trailer wagon, and Blondie offers Tuco a cigar as quits, "Well I find theres nothing better than a cigar after a nice bowl of soup". Then probably For a few dollars more, Fistull and once upon a time in America.

Love the final scene of Once upon a time in America where he's lying in the opium den and just let's off that crazy smile.

Are once upon a time in the west, and a Fistful of dynomite worth watching?

I watched Once Upon a Time in the West yesterday. Even with the steely-nerved mysterious loner clichéishness and the unrealistic harmonica sound it was rather fecking amazing. I had heard the music before and didn't think it was all that, but now I almost can't bear not listening to it. The same goes for studying Charles Bronson's pores.

Coincidental thread this as I was just listening to this

Which of course Good the Bad and the Ugly features in. Also was just reading the Requiem for a Dream thread starring Jennifer Connolly, she who had her very 1st role in Once Upon a Time in America

Sergio Corbucci's Mud and Blood trilogy (Django) and Gianfranco Parolini's Sabata trilogy are great underrated spaghetti westerns.

Of Leone's work that I've seen.

1. The Good, The Bad & The Ugly
2. Once Upon a Time In The West
3. For a Few Dollars More
4. A Fistful Of Dollars
5. My Name Is Nobody

In that order.

And Claudia Cardinale... it's actually painful

isn't it

Those are insane pieces of work. No matter how long or old they are, one never tires of them. Quite simply awesome.

Personally I think Once Upon a Time In The West was probably his best work (and possibly his last I think). I love the opening scene at the train station
