What is the worst thing a player could do on the pitch without getting a season long ban?

Take a big, stinky shit, right in front of the opposition goal, duh!

Also, why do you ask?

Kung-fu kick a crystal palace supporter usually gives you juuust under a season

It depends on the league, team, player and circumstances. I can imagine that Lamine Yamal could beat up the ref, take his clothes off and teabag him in front of the cameras and all circumstances considered , he'd probably only get a 6 game ban.

Snort cocaine for a couple of years, and then publicly state your intention to leave the league while still being the best player of the world.

That'll get you at least a 15 months ban.

One of my friends spat on an opposition player and got something like a 15 match ban in amateur football.

Take a bite off numerous opposition players, hurl racist abuse at another.

Same player, couple games ban.

Any reason to post this. This was given as just a foul. While obviously this wasn't going to be a season long ban, but this was as straightforward a red as you will ever see. Especially with the linesman standing literally centimeters from where its happening.

Racially abuse opposition players and then cause your club to go on a prolonged pro-racism campaign in your defence when you get caught, which results in your own fans racially abusing other opposition players, and then throw a huge public tantrum the second you come back and refuse to shake the hand of a black player because you think it should be ok to racially abuse them, and then have all your team mates and manager defend this stance with you (again).

Not even just a foul, but it was deemed a foul against Benayoun and a free kick to Chelsea

Is that a red? Its not like its a violent kick and he's not exactly going to endanger him or cause him an injury.

I know VAR would step in now and probably somehow rule it out for offside or something but that's because our officials are a bunch of plonkers.

That was amazing. Timewasters should be booted out of the game and Bosingwa did just that.

Is that a red, bloody norma :lol:

Thinking about the vendetta Aguero had against David Luiz.
He hit him with some horrific challenges that should have been met with massive bans.

What offence are you red carding him for then?

It's not reckless, serious foul play or endangering an opponent. Its not violent conduct on any planet with sanity still in tact.

The officials obviously saw it. Maybe they just used some common sense for once.

You know when they say 'his studs are over the top of the ball, so it's probably a red'. Well, his studs were digging into the opponent's back. And there wasn't much of an attempt to play the ball either.

Ben Thatcher got 8 games for attempted murder.

Probably mass murder.

They'd need to get onto the pitch with some kind of device that has a big red button on it that sets off a bunch of bombs/missiles. If they're really really sneaky, they might never get caught. But if they do get caught, the governing bodies in football would likely not bother with any sort of ban anyway, as the punishment would be left to a legal authority.

It would be really weird for said authority to then hand out the sentence "Life in prison... And you also can't play football until the current Premier League season is over."

Yeah that applies when a player flies wrecklessly into a tackle and risks breaking the opponents leg in the process. Not when they walk over and push someone slightly in the back with their leg, causing them to look round in bemusement.

I mean these aren't even remotely comparable or the same thing.

There was the injury that that cnut Moreno inflicted on Luke Shaw back in September 2015. It wasn’t even given as a foul, let alone a yellow card, never mind a red card. And what’s even worse is that he scored the winning goal AND got man of the match.

I mean, you're not allowed to touch the opponent's face, otherwise you're red carded. So it's not always about whether or not you risk breaking their leg.

Harry Kane when he endangers defenders who are trying to win a header every week, at some point someone will break their necks or worse, absolute dirtbag of a player.

David Luiz deserved it.
