Lee Martin Scores , Sir Alex legacy begins
So United are at Rock Bottom now, countless mangers, countless players lots of money spent for little return But What if certain things where done different since Sir Alex retried.
For example - What if Jose took over from Sir Alex rather than David?

If SAF was still managing today Klopp would be working at McDonald’s

What if we hired Conte instead of RR or had managed to hire Klopp

What if we decided to have a proper scouting system

What if Ferguson signed Messi instead of Ronaldo?

What if Roy Keane became a Buddhist?

What if De Ligt's father lost weight?

What if Gary Neville was alive?

I would say that team would fit Jose pretty well. Since our back line was aging out he would have signed some strong defenders first

When the becon went out, the Glazers should have been prepared months in advance of it happening but weren't. It wouldn't of made a difference if Jose got the job, he still wouldn't of gotten the players he wanted. That's when our new era should of started.

i think it wouldve made a massive difference getting jose after fergie, lets not forget jose came back to win the title with chelsea once fergie had gone so anyone who doesnt think there was still a bit of magic left in him would be bitter against him.

it was a huge mistake appointing moyes at the time and that set us back years, we needed a manager who could transition the team and i think 2-3 years of jose at that time wouldve got us another title

Jesse Lingard would have won the Ballon d or twice by now and spending the summer contemplating going to PSG for three hundred million

What if Cantona found the fountain of youth?

Danny Welbeck successfully chipped Neuer, United won the tie and Moyes led us to CL glory...

People forget the decline was happening under Sir Alex, its actually amazing we did so well in those last 2 seasons.

The midfield was heavily lacking and the solution was Moyes signing Big Bird for a billion pounds.

What if Moyes stayed for another season and we didn't bring Van Gaal, and Moyes was given a lot of money in the next summer to rebuild the squad completely.. do people think anything would have went differently or Moyes was never going to work no matter what ?

What if Scholes wasn’t deemed — the linesman had a clear view and botched it, with no VAR at the time — to be offside against Porto?

You can expand the list to Conte, Simone. Regardless of fan's interest, our team was never (and still is) geared up as a counter-attack team. We are not prepared for a 70% possession team neither. Any manager that fail to realise our "short-coming", and fail to utilise our strength, is doom to failure. Such as making Century Cross into the box, with Rooney as target man, kind of failure.
