What if the Qataris/INEOS switched interest to Liverpool?

Title is self-explained.

Both Manchester United and Liverpool are supposedly up-for-sale. What if our potential buyers were watching the match on Anfield and had a change of heart? They might think Liverpool looked more attractive as a prospect because they hammered us 7-0 although they were supposedly in bad form. And Liverpool would definitely be cheaper in price too.

In that case, we might be stuck in the scenario that the Glazers get some American funds to lend them money and continue to burden our club with even more debts.

I would hope someone who’s paying 5 billion would be little more logical/informed than to be swayed drastically by a bad result.

Well if the owners would make a 6 billion pound decision like that then I wouldn’t want them as owners in the first place

If hypothetically, Liverpool get a new wealthy owner willing to invest in their club, while United are stuck with the Glazers, then I see us dropping out of the top 4 short-term and becoming mid-table medium- and long-term.

That you would ask such a question is why you don't get to make multi-billion dollar decisions. And thank god for that.

At this rate, I don't care who own Man Utd as long as it's not Glazers.

We need proper investment in the summer to get back to the top. Not signing Weghorst and Sabizter when we need proper player.

Liverpool will win more trophies while we will win the moral high ground thanks to local tax dodger/polluter/Chelsea season holder SJR. In time we will adapt to judge football in terms of a positive patch rather then league position.

Are you really suggesting serious people make those kind of decisions based on 1 game?

Elon Musk.

I know it’s probably said in fun, but not sure he does in general. If you look at Tesla it’s all about optimizing every little notch here and there with extreme attention to detail. I think the mindset of how Tesla develops themselves would actually fit a football club really well.

if Ineos or Sir Jim is swayed by one game, yeah then they are not worthy owners anyways.

I was mostly referring to how he bought Twitter pretty much on a whim, seemingly mostly out of spite. And that was a far bigger deal than some football club.

If anything doesn’t it add fuel to their fire to take us back to the top? Make sure this never has any chance of happening again.

I mean FSG have just publicly said the club isn't for sale.

And if it makes you feel better these prospective owners probably have a hero complex, so the result yesterday would likely have encouraged them to think they can 'fix' the club.

You seriously think this is how business is done?

If you thought the players lost their heads yesterday, wait till you log onto the cafe.

Is this a WUM thread? FSG said they’re not selling and INEOS/Qatar are into advanced negotiations to buy United.

I doubt Radcliffe would switch his attention to Liverpool as he is a Man Utd fan is he not?

Furthermore, if you are Qatari even with the thing that happened yesterday, MUFC have a greater history than Liverpool FC, Gerorge Best - Dennis Law - Bobby Charlton they will know, not so much Kevin Keegan and John Toshak.

You'd be surprised looking at some of the threads on here from people you'd assume are relatively "serious" in real life.

The Qataris head YAWN and teared up, they decided to buy Liverpool instead. The name of the Qatari?

If our potential buyers changed their mind over one result, then I would argue they aren’t the kind of owners we need as it would suggest they are very knee-jerk and short termists. In fact I’d question wether they have any kind of business acumen at all if they completely changed their business strategy over one result in a 90 minute game.

If that’s how they react, then ETH would be getting sacked after one bad result. In which case I’ll be glad if they went for Liverpool instead.

Of course they will it’s inevitable.
Head in the sand if you think otherwise.
