Used to be very funny a few years back, now everytime I see him he is dressed as a ginger woman attempting to be funny, but failing miserably.

I'd like the old Peter Kay back please.

Maybe he is now scientifically a fat ginger woman, you know what with modern medical science anything is possible.

One trick pony, as far as I can tell.

He can do the 'salt of the earth, Northern routine' and not a lot else.

Phoenix Nights was great mind.

He's released yet another DVD for Christmas and again full of all his old material.

Shame really.

I'll still love him for his old stuff though, his Blackpool and Bolton DVDs were hilarious and then Pheonix Nights and Max and Paddy were good too.

I cant see a lot of mileage in the "Geraldine" character even if he has got the Tyrone accent spot on. Well he used to spend his summers there as a kid.

The salt of the earth Bolton thing is just like Billy Connollys Glasgow thing.

Told as up and coming comedians it works......but it lacks authenticity from comedy millionaires with show biz pals.
Pheonix Nights is great.......and Kay is clearly a great comic actor (portraying Potter and Max was great comedy acting)

A word of doubt though.
A few weeks ago I saw a kinda 30 minute documentary on him made BEFORE he became famous.
A lot of the stuff that sounds ok NOW......where he is onstage celebrating his working class roots etc (eg kids and fathers at weddings) .....back starting off in the documentary he seemed to be SNEERING at the lifestyle rather than ENJOYING it.

He was being interviewed on radio 2 the other week

he hasn't done stand-up in 5 years

and is concentrating being a daddy

Never liked that Geraldine thing, been done, shit idea.

It seems to me that he's attempted with the geraldine thing to reach a wider audience, not just the northern lot that he earned his reputation doing. Seems though that it's not really working and maybe he should just concentrate on what he knows and does best in the making of shows like Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy.

There's no denying he's a funny bloke and will always make people laugh, but he's not doing himself any favours in exploring different avenues.

Loving Phoenix Nights second time round. Geraldine is too mass-market for me.

He made 1 stand up, toured with it, then had the fecking nerve to release 3 different versions of the same stand up.

That's just wrong imo. Slimey bastard.

2 Up 2 Down were funny.

R Wayne was funny.

The mega mix that Geraldine did was funny. Especially when she mixed Free Nelson Mandela with Umbrella. “Free Nelson Mandela, ela, ela, ela, hey, hey, hey”

I liked the first half of the show.

When i was watching the 2ndf half i forgot it was suppose to be a comedy.
