...must come down. things are going to go wrong. it's inevitable. Fate is a wheel after all. if things didn't change, Villa would still be challenging in Europe. this is not the time for recriminations. it is a new time. we are at the top of the rollercoaster and we are staring at a pretty big drop. personally, i'm going to head into this new "crap" era with a sense of adventure. we need to get out of this "Drive-Thru/Fast Food" mentality. cycles in football take DECADES. so we're on the down swing. it could be a reawakening.
SAF won't turn things around. not in the sense that he lacks the skill, he lacks the time. so as Busby retires, i feel certain we will have to grit our teeth through years of Tommy D's and Big Rons before we find our Ferguson.
this then is the moral of the story: the youth amongst us...look forward to the days you delight your Grandchildren with tales of the glory years that were the 1990s; and to the older generation...go now to your celestial beds, smiling and praising The King for all the riches he so spectacularly spoiled us with betwixt the years of our Lord 1992 and 1997. crazy maaan

(discovered Confucianism this morning :D feeling nothing but peace....)

Glad that you are looking forward with such optimism, and sounding pretty relaxed about it too. Have you honestly not got used to winning trophies and watching exciting, flowing football - and are you not going to miss it? Or do you just have very good access to soft drugs at your university? ;)

I don't think that the future is as bleak as you are making it out to be, it's only November FFS - the trophies are handed out in May!!! We aren't even halfway through the season, and we haven't played Liverpool or Arsenal yet - and Liverpool are certainly looking formidable against the wannabe ethel's today aren't they?

The next month could completely change the picture :fingers crossed:

i love it. finally someone comes up with an approach to what i'm seeing and feeling and expecting. this is then the gloriousless Crap Era. Embrace The Horror brothers and sisters.
Thanks GiggsysGirl ! :D

watch out, everyone will be calling you a dipper in disguise now...

I hope that doesn't mean we'll have to be relegated first!!! But then again, that's when I first began to support United...

Clicheed 'cod' philosophy masquerading as stoical realism......and from a Man Utd fan it doesn't sit right.......in fact, oxymoronic (sic!).......the only thing missing was that bit from Kipling.....you know....'treating those impostors just the same'...and all that.

Hey,Giggsysgirl......you're not a born again atheist are you?? ;)
