I was born at Trafford General Hospital. I lived in Manchester for nine years but in spite of this, I'm a die-hard Liverpool fan!

I'm interested to know what you all think about this.

Fair comment about us watching Champs league on the telly, but I doubt very much that you lot will win the league this season either.

No I don't. Because I think the current CL format is a lot more interesting now than when just the champions entered. A competition with say, Barca, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Man United, Juventus and AC Milan is a lot more interesting than a competition with just Real, United and Juve.

You DO need the second placed clubs in the major leagues. Maybe not the 3rd place club, but then we were 3rd last season and we're doing hell of a better job of gracing the CL than Liverpool is doing.

I also support the idea of the expanded format because for teams like Maccabi Haifa it represents a huge chunk of income and enables them to develop their club into something better. That can only benefit European football.
