i really need to know ur point o view on this one. so react!!! tell me what do u think of him as a manager of course!!

Hes a pure legend and has in fairness improved my quality of life. I owe him a lot.
From the dark 80's he has turned us into one of europes top 5 clubs.

He's certainly been the best manager of his generation but I dont think he was 100% last season. Now that he has re-signed for another 3 years and once he gets an assistant manager I think he will dominate again for the next 3 years. He has also improved my standard of life as well. I wonder how many children he's been responsible for in the last 11 seasons (and I dont mean personally!) :p

One of the greatest managers of all time. There will never be another Fergie IMO. He represents a throwback model which says that the manager has absolute power, and any player who disagrees with that will find themselves out. Look at Schmikes in the early 90s, look at Stam this year. The newer breed of managers don't possess that controlling element, especially with the increased amount of prima dona players like Anelka, Ginola etc.

Agree with that. But a lot of last season was down to him being bloody-minded. I get frustrated by his stubborn streak. As a tactician, he confuses me as well - not so much with the formations he wants to use, but with his constant use of players out of position, which he's had a tendency to do for as long as I can remember!!

He's done wonders for United, which I'll always be grateful for. I don't know if I like him as a man. He seems to have a split personality. He seems to demand loyalty, but doesn't always give it.

The fact is that a lot of what we normally call unpleasant traits, are the very traits that have made him so successful. Stubbornness is probably a necessity, it gives him the strength to stand up to the board, the determination to succeed and to ensure he is always dominating his players. Similarly the ability to get loyalty, but be able to be ruthless, has been very effective at keeping the fledglings while getting rid of big time charlies. Houllier has just shown he can be quite ruthless too, and perhaps Wenger was when he sold overmars and petit. He also has strength of conviction, which is a two-edged sword, it allowed him to win with kids when nobody thought he could, but also to carry on making the same mistake again and again (4-5-1). Odd, but true.

Bloody hell, is this the kind of stuff people do at uni these days?

Ask fans of a successful club what they think of their manager?

Your thesis/project is going to be riveting i'm sure.

A grade guaranteed!

You're asking me to think?

Fergie's a class act-not just because of the way he instills a winning mentality into the team and provides us with good attacking football but because he looks after his players and defends them to the hilt (well those deserving of such loyalty)Take this week with Keano, sent a plane for him and has spoken out to balance out the anti-keane feeling the press r getting a kick out of creating!

Had to laugh though when Keano took his dog for a walk with about 100 reporters following! He didn't say a word though!
