how did you all rate his performace the other night. I thought he was pretty good at shot-stopping, punching and kicking.
worrying that he doesnt appear to like catching it as much as he likes to punch it.
also seems a bit rash to dive at peoples feet, given away 2 penalties in consecutive appearances.
Made one blinding save though, the one where he dived high to his right to claw it away.

He's a continental keeper, they like to punch the ball and I guess would rather risk a penalty than concede a goal.

I was quite pleased with his performance. You're right though Neil, continental keepers tend to punch it too much. Although, he got a fair whack on it I seem to remember.

That was the only real problem...hope he hasnt been taking lessons in rashness from baldy..we need a cool head at the back now!

He's looked very good in the reserves to me. Great shot-stopper with quick reactions, fast and likes to come out with the ball or to get the ball, taller than barthez, but his distribution isn't very good from what I've seen.

He is physically bigger than barthez, which is a good thing. IMO Barthez does not intimidate players with his size.

Barthez also has a tendancy to fall back when one on one. An example being the first Goater goal against City.

he looked pretty good to me... gd shotstopper... though need to communicate more wif the defense... maybe he's having problems wif english?

one of those goalkeepers who play with a permanent smirk on their face.

fantastic short-crust pastry-chef too, the neville's have him baking steak and kidney pies for the team.
i have this on good authority so feck off.
