Well what were the odds eh!

United women draw Brighton in our cup semi-final. We'll be playing at home. More details to follow.

The best possible draw! Are these not being played at a neutral venue? If not, any chance of an OT semi?

Provisionaly scheduled for LSV on the 16th April.

The men are away that weekend, but OT will have had three matches in the previous 14 days including the Sevilla match that Thursday. It might just not be an option. Even if it was it might not be the best place for it.

If it is LSV - I'm hoping for a full house, much better planning for the car parks (the signposting and traffic jams were a real mess against Liverpool) and the standing section in action!

You’re probably right. And as long as the pitch at LSV will be in a decent condition (has not always been the case this season), it’s good. It’s our home and gives us an advantage. We’ll get to play at a big stadium when we beat Brighton

Why is it not held at a neutral venue like the Mens FA Cup Semi Final? they could hold it somewhere thats around half way between the 2 clubs such as the Ricoh (Coventry are away at QPR that weekend).

Best chance of getting a good crowd is at a home ground - so I'm happy with that. I guess one day they'll change it but I don't think most clubs are ready for the challenge of getting a big crowd at a neutral venue.

Hopefully if we make it to the final we'll be able to get a good contingent down to Wembley.

It's our first ever women's FA Cup semifinal on Saturday. Brighton have lost 4-0 to us home and away this season - most recently a couple of weeks ago. We'll still need to put out a team to win and they've got a new manager to impress. Still - this is definitely in the category known as we must win and we should win.

The other WFA Cup semi-final is on Sunday 16th - Aston Villa v Chelsea

This match marks the start of a big week for us. Our rearranged WSL match with Arsenal is on the following Wednesday night. LSV is more or less sold out for that game. So much so that they've activated the ticket buyback system for season ticket holders who can't go.

That's great to hear! The team deserves all the support they can get for the last stretch of the season.

Skinner:

“We would love to get to a final, to compete in a final, and to win finals going forward.

“We have a very difficult task ahead of us and this is what I am trying to talk about – the mentality from my group and my players is that we go and hunt any opponent that stands in the way of us and success.

“That’s the mentality I want us to have from now until the end of the [season]; I want us to genuinely turn up our heat on every opponent.

“Brighton specifically will be very tough to play against, so we had better be ready for that.

“The reality is we are not at the final, and [we shouldn’t expect] anything other than a difficult game with their manager, with whatever influence Mel [Phillips] can have.

“We will always do our work around the coach."

Brighton's assistant manager Amy Merricks has left the club and been appointed England WU19 head coach. She's also worked as interim manager at Brighton for three separate occasions.

Not obvious who's going to be available today as the press conference was held on Tuesday. Lots of the women played in the midweek internationals so we may have some injuries and fatigue limiting the choices - particularly with Arsenal coming up next Wednesday.

That said - players like Batlle, Turner, Garcia, Galton, Parris, Zelem were training and also had some rest days. Meanwhile, some of the others were with their national teams but didn't play.

Brighton looks well up for it. We have to grind this out i feel. A goal might change things though

It’s funny how you can do whatever you want with your trailing foot as long as you get the ball with the first one.

FFS. Earps has saved us so many times so can’t really say anything about that. We really need to step up as a team.

For all the improvements in overall quality, the goalkeeping is still laughably bad.

I will never grasp this. Could easily have been game over for Lucia there. Similar to Garnacho vs Walker- Peters.
But the refs have no problems with these?

What a howler by Earps…

Yeah pretty similar with KWP. Those can end up even worse than game-ending.

A big 45 coming up. I have full trust that the next 15 minutes will set up a strong half and we’ll come back to win this.

For some reason we just still lack some bottle for the really big games. We have played way under par today

Didn't realise this was on BBC2

Agree to an extent. But we’ve played some good games too against the big teams. These are still a part of a learning curve for this team. To win ugly is an important trait too.

GREAT GOAL!

Not our best performance but we are still comfortably a much better team than Brighton. Would say we have been unlucky on a couple of moments. Ruuuuuuuusssssooo!!

Come on let's get another to finish this off
