I would say this is the most unpredictable WC in living memory, any one of the top teams stand a very good chance of winning.

Not that unpredictable for me, Will either be Australia, Safrica or India, and of the three the former are still heavy heavy favourites for me.

Tomorrow I fear a slaying for the Windies, which will be sad given they're hosting the competition. You need the hosts to do well, and I even have a sneaky suspicion they might struggle to get out of their group, which would be an immense shock. We'll see...

S Africa going out of the competition early on their own patch was a real let down in the last tournament. I hope WI get some sort of success as the WC desperately needs the presence of the home team in the later stages.

I personally predict the Kiwis to win it. You heard it here first. We are the best chasing side in the game and we have a really balanced team atm. Our only enemies will be ourselves.

This is the first time in my life that I'm supporting any team. I'm excited about this. Hope we do well!

Last World Cup, I wasn't remotely interested in cricket..

If these feckers go into the commercial break before the over's fecking ended then I'm boycotting the Cup.

When did Sami fall out of the Pak team? Even with Asif and Shoaib missing he hasn't been able to make it back. Anyway, i'm glad. Hate that bastard.

Sami's quite shit.I think that helped in the decision.

He can't be worse than Rana Naved Ul Hasan though....absolutely hate that fecking cnut.

Sarwan's a class act at times.I remember that knock against SA I think it was in the 2003 WC where he came back with an injury and helped Windies to a win.Excellent stuff.

Can't see WI defending anything less than 270.
Pakistan can collapse and give themselves for the taking faster than a prostitute in heat at times...so i'll say about 250 should be good enough.

Who the hell is Mohammed Hafeez? What happened to Arafat and gang? They'll miss Razzaq. He's a handy player both with bat and ball.

I take it this isn't Sky's TV camera's at work here? It's bloody awful! Half the time they don't show you where the ball has pitched, camera pointing at the slip cordon instead. And of course at the moment there isn't one, so all I'm seeing is the right hand side of the batsman, the wicket keeper, and an awful lot of green. Hope they sort this out sharpish...

'kinell I just saw the format of this world cup. What a load of bollocks!! So whats the point of having two utter shite teams in every group of four and then having the top two qualify for a round of 8???

Why not just accept the fact that there are only 8 decent cricket teams in the world and have a tournament involving just these 8 in which every match is meaningful? And even if you want to have minnows, why not just have 2 groups with one or at most two minnows in each group, rather than have this current format where the group stage is totally pointless.

The fecking ICC make FIFA and the FA look like geniuses

The '92 world cup had the best format IMO. 9 teams, all play each other in a round robin, top 4 go to the semis at the end of it.

I was too young to remember the details of all games, but the format makes it most competitive and almost no pointless games.
