Hayden Foxe is a young Australian (?) defender with Red hair, for future referance.

By the way what is this bar incident? Have not heard about it.

Wouldn't be suprised if it was any of the West Ham United players. The Londoners are very rowdy as Chelsea proved two months ago and West Ham have some extremely volatile players.

I would not like to make accusations or allegations when I am not sure of the situation but I would not be suprised if it was one of the younger men.

West Ham have a history of thuggery amongst their players....I remember seeing Trevor Brooking spit once.

Foxe: club fine of two weeks' wages.

West Ham manager Glenn Roeder has slammed Hayden Foxe after the Australian was named as the player at the heart of the Hammers' nightclub rumpus.

Foxe is alleged to have urinated against a bar during the club's Christmas party at Sugar Reef - an incident that resulted in the players being ejected from the premises.

Roeder confirmed that Foxe has already been fined two weeks' wages - around £12,000 - and has expressed his deep regret during a private meeting.

But he added: "People say it's because they are paid too much but it's nothing to do with the money they earn. They cannot use that excuse.

"We have young players who earn incredible amounts of money but who have never been in trouble like this and never will be.

"Today's players have got to learn that society has changed; that people are interested in football and footballers as never before. There is a responsibility which goes with that profile and you either accept that or suffer the consequences."

Roeder expressed his concerns over the damage done to West Ham's reputation during a week that has seen football grab the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

He said: "We couldn't have done anything more as a club to prevent possible problems. In the light of what has happened in the past with other clubs, we even provided security staff to help minimise any infiltration into the party by non-football people.

"In the end though, you have to trust your players and I still do, despite what has gone on. There is a minority who go over the line but it is important to stress it is a minority and it's getting smaller.

"The influence of foreign players, with a different culture, has helped, as has education in the academies, where young players are taught about what to drink and eat.

"They are taught that alcohol is bad for your performance as a player and, if you are serious about wanting to reach the top, you should stay away from it."
