West Ham agree Bowyer fee

Leeds have confirmed that they have agreed a fee with West Ham for England midfielder Lee Bowyer.
The 26-year-old's contract at Elland Road expires in the summer and he has told Leeds he will not sign the new deal on offer.

Leeds, who have large debts and would recoup nothing for him when his contract expires, have now agreed an undisclosed fee with Premiership strugglers West Ham.

Legal bills arising from his much-publicised trial were believed to be a sticking point in any potential move.

But Leeds revealed that they have agreed a schedule with Bowyer for the repayment of his outstanding legal fees.

London-born Bowyer, who turned down a loan move to Birmingham last week, will be having contract talks with West Ham on Monday afternoon.

Leeds agreed a fee with Liverpool for the former Charlton player in the summer but the move collapsed.

Interesting choice choosing a division 1 team.

If his fee is a really knock down one (300,000 pounds) it looks like he'll only sign until the end of the season, which may be right for all sides as all West Ham care right now is staying up this season.

Love me or hate me but I think that Bowyer would be a good buy for Manutd

Ok hes lunatic but we are used in handling Lunatics ( Keano for example)

Bowyer is a hard working midfielder who would cover perfectly Veron and Becks while adding steel to our midfield. He is a precous midfielder who is always in the thick of action and is armed with a poisionous shot. At the right price he would be perfect especially as Becks cover

He hasn't played well for ages and instead has stomped on people's heads in frustration but I think he will come good again.

Good move for West Ham and most probabaly if they are relegated he will move to another London team next season.

It gets him back to London where he wanted anyway...if he'd gone back there 2 years ago before the trouble then he would have saved Leeds fans a lot of heartache
