Coly ? - would need to settle quick.
Carr - would be too expensive around 10 mil methinks
Finnan - nice

With Blanc, Silvestre, O'Shea and P. Neville likely to line up in the back 4 tomorrow, which substitutes are we going to see on the bench to cover for any of them? Who do we have?

Yes, with three first team defenders out we do

IMO we are one left back from having enough cover in defence though

We can't really expect to have quality players as third choice full backs - if first and second choice are out injured, you'll have to play youngsters or players out of position IMO.

That means if we sign Escude, we'll have:

RB: Gary and Wes
CB: Rio, Blanc, O'Shea and Wes
LB: Silvestre and Escude

With Phil and youngsters to stand in in situations like we're experiencing now.

Unfortunately it seems like Wes' injury nightmare will no end take, so I feel we're in the need for another right back as well now, as IMO Phil is not good enough for a longer run in the team.

i dont think we should give up on Phil just yet..at least not as backup.
He made a mistake the other night, admittedly but last season when he had a run of 5-10 games at RB (his favored position) he did a decent job. Even chipped in a few goals (no pun intended)
