Who's the best lad to partner Rio when fully fit? What's their advantages/disadvantages as players?
Just wonder...

Cheers!

John, no doubt. Wes is too injury prone and has had a lot of years to prove himself. he's growing steadily, but haven't made as much impact in 3 years that John has done this year alone.

John.

Wes seems too nervy. Wuss Brown.....

PPL Oshea is what W Brown was a couple of years ago. He was Manutd's golden boy, an able defender who would have delivered on the long run but was crushed by two main reasons

1. Manutd pretended too much from him. Leading Manutd's backline at his early 20s was a mistake and fergie's claim of wes being 2 times better than Rio shows how (too) highly we expected from the lad

2 Injuries.

I believe in O Shea incredible capabilities, but throwing him in the lions arena at such a tender age will only dimoralise him. Remember than playing in the red devils's backline is a huge responsability. It will mean facing the best strikers in the world week in week out, and pretending the best out of him.

Wes had tasted it and I wont be surprized if Oshea would pass from a similar experience.

My opinion is to bring in a confirmed defender and introduce OSHEA AND Brown at their own pace.
This is will give us the time to choose who is the best out of them and more time so that they can mature more.

Remember then with Blanc leaving next year we will only have 2 leaders. Rio and Gaz. And i cannot see Oshea- Brown leading our backline if the others get injured

Wes in quality. Hes also a good mate of Rio's. But the progress OShea has made has been tremendous. John gets the nod for me. If we're going to stick to 4 at the back then Wes should concentrate on right back.

Personnally I'd prefer to see us use a 3-4-3 formation. I think it would suit our attacking style and fit more with the players available. Rio, JOS & Wes would back an awesome back 3. Obviously Gary would be contending for one of those 3 places too.

3-4-3 is better thab the 4-4-1-1 but we depend too much on the wingers creativity. My ideal formation remains the 4-4-2

We should definately not be chopping and changing between 3 different formation and styles week in week out. Two is too many.

As for who to choose of the two, I don't know. O'Shea's class but so is Wes (though people tend to forget). Between them and Rio though we look find in center defence.

If Fergie intends to bring in Burdissu (who I believe though could be wrong is a right back) then Gary Neville could be the extra centerhalf in need when Blanc goes.
