Here's Wenger's comments after the match

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger said United's first goal should not have been given after an apparent handball by van Nistelrooy in the build-up.
But the French coach conceded that his side - who failed to score for the first time in 56 league games - were often second best to United

'There was no debate (about the first goal) - it was a definite handball,' Wenger told reporters.

'But we can't complain about that... United were more aggressive and committed and they wanted it more.

'They played like outsiders. They played a real "cup" game and made sure they defended very well. Credit to them for that.

'But I can't say that I was impressed by their offensive play. It is true, we did not create many chances ourselves, but the first goal had a huge influence on the game.

'They scored just as their crowd were whistling at them and they were losing stupid balls. But once they scored they had the crowd on their side and from then on, all they had to make sure they did was defend very well.'

TWO THINGS MR WENGER.

1. What happened to the undefeated season?

2. What happened to your midfield today?

Tosser.

<img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

We whistle...........the wolf whistle...........at the mistakes made by the opposition!!!!! THAT IS WHAT WE DO!!! There were PLENTY of 'wolf whistles' today...........Silly OLD GIT.............WHAT game was he watching to think that Man Utd fans would whistle and boo at their own team...........

Same old Arsenal.......cheating again.

What about Keown..........hitting Ruud in the face.............he will say Ruud heatbutted his hand next!

BIG TOSSER...........mind you when you have a team of tossers what can you possibly expect!

I think Wenger is just not used to hearing noise from the crowd after spending 6 years playing at the Highbury Library.

wenger is a fecking prick who has used his connections to buy french players

he has had success with some other foriegn playlers but plenty of mistakes including that knob who he is playing at centre half now

he is a sad bitter cnut because he knows no matter what arsenal will never compare to united because of size, stature, reputation, nationality of players etc

and because hes a paedo

I find his comments really puzzling.

I was in the East Stand and I thought the fans were in really good form today. And why would we start whistling after 20 minutes? The team was playing well. But more importantly, you could see that the players were really up for it and giving it their all.

All I can say is that I didn't hear any whistling or booing, and if it did happen, it must have been very isolated and directly behind Wenger.

Wanker speaks out of his arse. He previuosly said that he went for Jeffers instead of RVN because he wanted an English basis. Look at his English "basis":
Rami Shaaban
Ashley Cole
Pascal Cygan
Martin Keown
Oleg Luzhny
Fredrik Ljungberg
Robert Pires
Gilberto Silva
Patrick Vieira
Thierry Henry
Sylvain Wiltord

1. Couple of bad loses to United and Southampton have him looking like a real fool.
2. They left them in London. <img src="graemlins/smirk.gif" border="0" alt="[Smirk]" />

I heard whistles while watching but the commentator said it was because one of the players ( I think Van Nistelrooy) went down. It may have been for the way Van Nistelrooy went down on a challenge by Keowen.

Who cares what Wenger says. We crushed them and that's it, what's there to discuss. The loosers always fecking explain.

Arse was out played and outclassed on the pitch today. Wenger knows that despite injuries and suspension they did not show up and play the way they can. What has to hurt more is that United has had injuries and suspensions too and yet they still find a way to win in the PL, WC and CL.

hahahahahahaha...wat have happenrd to 'the great' ARSSSSSSSSS'e'NAIL...?...

2-0 to man utd...something ez for them?...

n mr. ass...oops...i did it again...arsss'ene wanker...plz learn from here...nothing is perfect and great...

Mr. Wenger..
Ha, that was a history and the fact is: the reds WON!!!!
blame and shame on u..........

Wenger was talking crap as usual. The whistling were for the Arsenal players when they refused to sportingly return the possesion to United after United have put the ball out due to Ruud's injury. Then Keown also got extra boos cos he was the one who inflicted the injury on Ruud.

I have always said on this forum that Arsene Wenger is an intelligent man and a good manager. However, his pathetic attempt to denigrate the Old Trafford crowd is worthy of contempt.

Unlike some other clubs, Manchester United has the reputation of keeping its followers on its side. Even when the lads have been disappointing it is not the fans` way to `whistle`, jeer or otherwise. But when you are bitter about a defeat, despite being out-thought and out-played, sometimes it manifests itself in bitchy comments like those of Arsene.

Indeed... Arsene Wenger does not yet understand the tradition that Manchester United is... And that makes him the poorer about it. His comments are not even worthy to deserve a 'rebuke'. That's just too utterly cheap. I do revere Wenger as a tactician etc. But, when he says something like that, he has just taken a huge unrecoverable plunge i every Manchester United fan's eyes. I wonder that even Arsenal fans would take that comment with a pinch of salt...

There was whistling/booing after the Keown/Ruud incident. But that was clearly directed against Arsenal/Keown. I'd really be interested to find out what he was referring to because although I find Wenger really annoying at times, and there are a lot of things he doesn't see on the pitch, he doesn't strike me as being someone who would deliberately misinterpret that whistling/booing as being directed against our own team.

Red15, Arsene just does not want to admit hands down that his team is lesser to ours. Maybe it isn't. But, that is no reason for you to say that the home crowd is booing its own players! He thought that we were deserved to be booed? Why? Because Barthez had only one save before we scored? He is just being a really sore loser. I don't think I mind that much. It does not change much. But, somewhere, he has taken a plunge in my estimation of him.

Geez tosser.

What's that about us playing a "cup game" and "outsiders"??

Just admit it. We want the victory more than the gooners and he did. Prick

An excellent article - but let's not forget that Mcilvennay is a good friend of fergie - and so he's putting the boot it on his friend's behalf. Still everyhting is true - and Wenger in rattled.

It's a lot of fun to see the fat and thin French guys get the pressure from the press for a change.

Oh Mr Wanker, we were whistling all right - at your fecking team!!! Because they are SAME OLD ARSENAL ALWAYS CHEATING!

Who does he thinking he is fooling with such stupid, crass and bitter comments? No one if what I read in today's papers was anything to go by! Methinks his cool, urbane and intelligent mask has been firmly ripped off his face by our very own smart Scot!!!

United! United! United! <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" />

Not only was Wenger beaten, but he was seriously out-thought. Wenger's an intelligent man, that must hurt his pride as much as the defeat.

Whats that on the Gooner's jersey, 0-2, that just about says it all :) :) :)

Mr.Wanker's beginning to lose the plot, I would too if I had half of the French National team, plus a Brazillian world cup winner and still got beat by a team without Rio Ferdinand,Blanc,Keane,Butt and Becks. And we did it with just one out and out striker. Henry the best striker in the world, we will go unbeaten this season,I was not impressed by their attacking play,.....he's such an intellectual... :) :) :)
