Do you know how secure one's details are on the PSN? Like, could someone hack your account, etc? I've wondered about this recently.

On another note, I managed to figure out how to add an aditional audio output yesterday, what a wonderfully amazing machine the PS3 is!

And yesterday I set up a wireless connection between the PS3 and Windows 7 on my laptop, unbelievably easy and the performance is much better then I thought.

Doc, you can also purchase PSN Cards if you don't want to store credit card or important information on your PSN. These cards take away all possibility of something like your account being hacked, from ever happening, and if did nothing would be of consequence.

From experience, it's fine, I've purchased loads of stuff on three seperate PS3's. Only thing I would warn against is this, I left my details on a friends PS3, which was then stolen and as a result, the bastards brought several games from my account. Sony blocked the account on my request, but did not refund the money, although I can't remember why.

I've thought about that for sure as I sometimes want to purchase things, but the free demos keep me busy as it is.

As for the rest it's ok. I don't have any friends with PS3s, really.

I think it's safe to say it's fairly safe in fairness. I imagine the security Sony have set-up on the account and money side of things is fairly immense.

I've no clue, can you set your CC details through the web portal or only through a PS3?

Good point. If it's only through the PS3 then that last software update likely increased security in that respect, no?

Although it's not CC details that I'm concerned about. Just account details like passwords, etc.
