We need 3 players

We need 1 player for each area
1-Materazzi (tall, strong and a scoring defender, very much like your typical English centre half)
2- Javier Zanetti (skillful and never say die..)
3- Cisse, if not Anelka.(same type of forwards)
Anelka is kind of a hot dog, but Fergie and the Status of UTD will curb that and will cost 1/2 a cisse making him the better choice.

I disagree, if we are talking three players, i would say;

1. Ayala
2. Thuram
3. Duff

:D

Marco Materazzi that everton reject said he would never play in england again and that serie A is superior to the premiership, yeah like we would want him anyway.

1. Ayala
2. Thuram
3. Anelka, should have got him b4 liverpool when we sold cole

Anelka would be a much better option than Di canio

Good god, United fans want Anelka... <img src="graemlins/houllier.gif" border="0" alt="[Houllier]" />

Unbelievable isn't it? I wouldn't want that arrogant shit anywhere near our club. 5 goals in 22 for the scouse last season. Based on these stats I can't understand why any of the cm brigade would want him anyway.

You sir, are a prick. How would that dickhead, four-clubs-before-he's-23 Anelka be better suited to us than a passionate player like Di Canio ? Ole is better than Nic, and PDC would suit our play. Anyone who wants Anelka at OT should be kept well away for United.

My heart says Wes Brown and John O'Shea long term for central defence but it is unlikely that both will make it to the very top. Most players don't. Ayala is a great medium/long term option.

Southgate (or Thuram) would be good short term while giving John and Wes a chance to develop. I prefer Thuram but Southgate could free up money for a big signing as the fourth forward (Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Cisse, Crespo etc). If we get Thuram, Paulo Di Canio might be a good option but both are getting old and we would have to spend big in a year or two.

A good wide player (Duff?) as cover and a fourth full back (Finnan?) make up my wish list.

Don't agree with your views on another forumite (unless he's a scouser trying to palm off trouble onto us) but I agree 100% about Anelka.
He is cheap because he is trouble.

I want players at this club who will work for United even when it is not necessarily in their interests. Andy Cole left to further his world cup ambitions. He failed. Ole also missed the world cup but he has been a model professional. He has put up with few opportunities for so long but has got his reward. He has always had the full support of the fans and, even if he loses form, he will still be supported because he is United through and through. He supported Liverpool when he was growing up but has the right attitude. There are many others who will give 100% to the club if they sign because they know we will be successful and win trophies. We need more Solksjaers, fewer Coles and no Anelkas.

I maybe want Anelka at United because i love his brothers <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Calm down. Firstly, I never once stated PDC was better than Anelka, I merely said he would fit better in to our plans. His wages wouldn't be as big, neither would his price-tag, and Di Canio wears his heart on his sleeve - Anelka wouldn't last more than three years at OT, that's a fact. Another fact, SAF would never manage such an arrogant kid. PDC is more likely to come to OT than Anelka, that's another fact. PM for you Ruddy.

I don't want Le Sulk, but some would have said the same about one Mr. Cantona 10 years ago..</strong><hr></blockquote>

From memory we signed Eric after Dion Dublin broke his leg, although was not bought as a replacement. Dion had only played a few games and was looking impressive. I wonder what would have happened if he didn't break his leg and Fergie didn't get Eric. We might be basking in the glory of a couple of premierships and a FA Cups whilst remembering the barren 26 years? We might even be thinking isn't it good that Fergie failed to buy that terrible Frenchman.
Having said that I still don't want Anelka.

Signing Anelka would be a big mistake.

The harmony in the dressing room is imbalanced as it is. Cantona was his own man, a flamboyant genius ala Paolo DiCanio.

Anelka is a mercenary prima donna with some very troublesome friends/relatives.

Houllier has turned him down, if he aint good enough for Liverpool....then surely not us?

Theres plenty better players on view who are actually at the world cup. Agahowa being one. Some may be cheaper too.

I dont think its how many we need, just what roles they can fill. Thuram can play RB for example so it would mean we have Thuram, Brown, Gaz and Phil to cover there.

We need to strengthen RB, LB, CB (desperate), LW, RW and 1 FW(essential).

Its true we need three players, two defenders and an attacking midfielder/forward.
I would be going for

Finnan [to provide cover for nevilles, silvestre]
Ayala [just because he's what we need]
and either
Duff or Wiig [pace, skill & audacity]

End of story.

Finnan would push Gazza for the starting RB position. That could mean Gazza switching to LB and Silvestre on his way out.

Thuram and Ayala would be a formiddable partnership. I think Thuram and Blanc would be outstanding since they know one another (and Barthez would have a duo he can trust). However, Blanc is not getting younger and is slow. Ayala would be a great buy. I still prefer Nesta to all CBs mentioned, but that will not happen.

I would love to see D'Allesandro join United as cover on the wing. Otherwise, get Duff.

I assume you mean Gary Neville, in which case you are seriously wrong - Gary can't play LB.

Firstly...we need more than 3 players...this my friends is a fact...we lost more than 3 players and thus needs more than 3 to balance things. I f we don't we don't have enough coverage for our first 11.

Secondly i would want 3 major signings and a few backup players, and the 3 being:-
1)Thuram
2)Ayala
3)Duff/Cisse

Thirdly, Anelka is trouble yes but PDC himself was an enfant terrible when he was Anelka's age. Plus, all of you need to agree that Anelka IS The type of player we need although not necessarily him. And, PDC is getting a bit on in age...scout for someone younger.

Well apparently Finnan isn't bad at LB, but we have Silvestre, so we shouldn't bring in Finnan for the sake of it. He could put pressure on Gary certainly, or indeed move Gary to CB.
