or a player like it. We had this with Eric and Teddy, a player that could unlock the tightest of defences with a moments brilliance. We don't seem to have a target man at the moment.

Yes and no, he was brought to open up defences but he isn't a target man, he sits too deep for that role.
Ahh dear Teddy the man who made a career out of standing infront of goal and waiting for the rebound(see he scored last night too) 
If you ask me who I miss most at this moment, I'd say it is Scholes. Although he is not the same type of player as Sheri and Eric, he is the most probable one who can unlock a defence with a brilliant movement or trick. We can't get back Sheri no matter how we miss him now, but we can at least get back to our midfield line which won us the treble.
