We Have to Stop the Dippers from getting Damien Duff!!!

I think united will be making a grave mistake if they allow Liverpool to get Duff... we should get him... hes a quality player and imo better than kewell...

What we should do is lull them into a false sense of security... and just when they believe the deal is done(and the dippers get duff on the back of their shirts) we nick him from under their noses... just like we did with silvestre...

However i'm sure the cunning Sir Alex has got an even better plan!! :)

I dont think that we should get players just to stop other teams getting them. If he is good enough for us and can improve us, then yes, but otherwise, no.

Whether he is good enough for us is a different question.

IMO he's good enough for us! Whitout any doubt! Come on "Duffer's", be a Devil next season!

weastedevil - if you actually read my post and did state he would be a good addition to our squad aswell... but the fact the dippers want him aswell makes it an even better acquisition...

IMO Duff's better than Kewell, but I'd also like Kewell in our squad because he's a very good player! Hopefully one of them is coming......

Completely agree with you Kewell would give us so much more. Kewell is a world class player just waiting for a big stage. Doesnt' get bigger than OT.

Its very difficult to say which is the bettrer out of Duff/Kewell...
I think kewell is more talented but Duff has that will to win...

Kewell is inconsistent and hasn't had a good season for a few years now... a few years ago he was the dogs b*llocks...

Duff gets better every season and was outstanding at the world cup... so hes proven he can handle the big games... so hes gets my vote just above kewell...

but the f**ker prefer a move to ASREnal..
really think we should get duff as he can play as a left winger or as ruud's strike partner..

If Duff had any ambition, he'd settle for nothing less than UEFA Champions League next season! :)

BTW, I'm a Kewell fan & I think he's a big match player!

I'm a bigger fan of Duff than Kewell, I hope we get him.

On Sir Alex's criteria: "Madrid have 4/5 players who can beat their man", Duff has to be the better player.
On 1-on-1's he rarely doesn't beat his man. Kewell isn't on the same level here.
As an auxillary striker, Kewell is better, but for creativity give us Duff.

Duff is more talented than Kewell.
Duff has a better attitude than Kewell.
Duff is more versatile than Kewell.
Duff supports United (the right one).
Keano loves Duff.

So much more magic than Duff?? WTF?
The only premiership player with more magic than Duff on his day is of course Giggs. I do not understand anyone who thinks Kewell is the better option. Cheaper maybe, better noooooooooo.

Kewell is more talented than Duff
Where does this myth that Kewell has an attitude problem come from?
Kewell is more versatile...
Does Duff really support United?
Keano loves Del Piero, methinks...
Kewell is cheaper too...

Allows us to sign other players - Mexes, Robinson, or even Del Piero.

With the money we have, I prefer we take in Kewell and spend more on a proven striking partner for RVN. Duff is kinda expensive at about GBP15 mil whereas Kewell is only about GBP6 mil. With GBP9 mil, we can also easily get another top class keeper. Kewell has the natural talent and ego to succeed in a big club..I'm afraid Duffy may be overwhelmed by the hype of playing in a star-studded team.. remember King Eric's arrogance??

I would personally prefer the Jewell, that is Kewell. No doubt Duff is a talented boy and he'll improve the team but in this inflated transfer market, 12-18 million pounds aint worth it. Duff is also too injury prone. He gets bogged down by too many hamstring problems.

I would lurve to have these fellas,

Philip Mexes, David Bellion and Julien Escude - the younger investments.

Kewell and Kluivert - the established ones, though Kluivert has been in terrible form for 1 1/2 years.

Kewell's been playing up front for Leeds lately and has rediscovered his best form, he could form an awesome partnership with Ruud. Duff can play up front but isn't as effective, leaving him with a place on the left wing, which is currently occupied by the best left winger around - Ryan Giggs. So forget about Duff, great player and will improve the scousers if they ever get him, but Kewell is definately the better option for us.

I've seen Duff play up front as a striker, behind the front two, in the hole, in a free role, on the right wing and on the left wing. He also tracks back better than Kewell.
Common knowledge in Ireland that Duff is a United fan, even Dippers admit this. :)
Keane, who doles out praise very sparingly, always praises Duff.
Kewell has allegedly claimed Arsenal is his prefered option.
and yes Duff is more expensive than Kewell, but if you think that the saving here means we have enough to take DelBoy from Juve you are very mistaken.

I'd tend to agree with that. Mexes is a star and maybe we could have bought him instead of Rio, but right now i think we need a stopper like Ayala or Van Buyten.

the most important is duff have more determination and never say die attitude which we can see on all the ManUnited player..
no doubt kewell is more talented though

i would like to say that Duff is far more better than kewell. Duff has attitude, flair and would suit well in the team, and even he is fan of Utd(i hate dippers have him in their side)
