Hv we become the victim of our own success ?? a question that has been bothering me for quite a while now and especially obvious since last season ...

Overall I think there have been things that we could do previously but not anymore nowadays ...

(1) in transfer - we are too "famous" to hold the tag of richest soccer club in the world that nobody else will do a "decent" deal with Man Utd when come to transfer ... If a player is rated 10mil .. it'll just come out as 15mil often .. Not really a fair playing ground anymore I say ..

(2) Young players ... we are no more in a mode to produce good youngsters and give them chances ... The team success is too much a concern to the team now nobody would want to bet for anything less .... Unless we put some youngsters on the subs. bench for every league game and send them on when it's 3-0 up ... But well, how often we are 3-0 nowadays ?? :p Unlike the days with Giggsy and Becks where we are in transition phase ... pity the youth really ..

(3) Media exposure ... the players have come too much under the media their life seems to be very disturbed .. but luckily for this context we are a bit better with some likes of Leeds team :p

(4) Burden to success + the loss in appetite to keep it up ... I think our players are a bit fatigue to end the whole season nowadays ... they are no more the 21yr old young chaps ... their body has started to come down after 6-7 years exposure to high intense games ....

We really need to do something abt this ... before we go down after a "cycle" like everybody else are predicting now ... We could onnly avoid this with some good work and planning ... :(

If oyu term decent transfers unsettling and then paying over the odds for the captain of another club that was only 18 months into a 6 year contract go ahead.

Though in some ways I agree with a few of the points stated, it's not like our players are strangers to dealing with success and being in the public eye. Just because we didn't take the title by storm as we have for the past few years, it is unfair to say the players have lost it completely. If we win the league this year while unearthing a few gems in the process, people will be wondering what all the fuss was about.

Only a couple of months ago fools were hailing Nesta as the best thing since sliced bread and ready to pay 40m for him. If any defender is worth 30m+ let it be Rio. And since when have United unsettled him ? All United have said publicly is that they would be interested for the right price, and this was said only a few days back. Don't be so quick to blame United, the press and those who can't keep their mouth shut (looking at you Wenger) are just as much to blame.

Ok for Rio thing ... well if you ask me - then I say I don't want any RIO for anything >22mil ... I was definitely not one that has been shouting for a 40mil Nesta transfer though .. ...

And seperately for Gazza ... well that "glamour" thing I have to admit that it's less of a convincing point ... much less weightage then all others ..

Well ... 30mil and it's confirmed .... 8mil over wat I have deem MAXIMUM but I think the Nike deal has helped in this really .. 330mil in 13yrs i.e. around 30mil each year !? just nice ;)

I just hoped we still have some cash in the coffer now to get Duff in with Disco going the opposite way ... I think 12mil will be enough ... but the deal will very much depends on whether Duffy is ultimately a Man Utd supporter or a Soucers like some reports have claimed ..
