I have seen a lot of Man Utd do so, some (a minority) paticulry with bad taste about Gerrard Houlliers heart condition. As for this tag we all know he does'nt drink alot its just a bit of banter.

No contest and you should know it. Players will pick us over pool EVERYTIME both go in for the same player eg Silvestre

Funny you mentioned Silvestre. Hmmm...can't quite rememeber which club he almost signed for and decided not to at the last minute....my memory deserts me...kinda like what Bridge will do to S'ton once United make a bid.

If he was an alcholic then fair play, it would be out of order. But we all know he's not, so there's no harm in having a laugh about the fact that he looks like one...

Bridge is a fair enough player, but he wouldn't replace Silvestre at LB, and he is no CB. CB is much more of a priority, and getting a player would could play both--such as Chivu is a much better option.

I think he'd be a great signing to put competition for places in that position, especially with Irwin leaving at the end of the season. He's young and may well become better than Silvestre - he's certainly a good prospect. I know we have little need for Vassell, but all the same, if we signed him I'd be very pleased because every time I watch him play he impresses me.

Would be a good replacement, but would mind not playing every game.
 
Bridge wouldn't look out of place at United. And its good to have a nucleus of top english players. Only problem would be keeping Silvestre and Bridges happy, since both are now established players, with international careers to think of. Lets see how the two do in the world cup.

Chivu is excellent as a CB, I haven't seen him as LB, but he's a strong, solid CB with good skills on the ball. Isn't the 'word' that he wants to continue at Ajax, before eventually going to Seria A.

Bridge is a very good prospect, but should we sign every good prospect in the world? Among the four positions in our defence, LB is the position I worry the least. Save the money for one or two CB or RB.
