I think, It is more important for UTD to prevent Duff from joining Livershite or Recber go to the arses than signing Rio. What do you lot think? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
 
I disagree. Poo won't be signing Duff this season, and I doubt anyone will. Defence is our priority at the moment. Oh and forget Recber...
 
I don't think the Recber issue will resurface unless Barthez has another year like last year. As for Duff, we stand a realistic chance of landing him since Blackburn have expressed an interest in Yorke. We should pick him up immediately, as I think he's going to move to the next level, whether it be with us or one of our rivals.
 
Let's worry about our own needs first rather than buying somebody just for the sake of preventing somebody else having him! That's just daft!! We're not AC Milan of the early 90s ffs!! ;)
 
Especially with Dosco as part of the bargain. The PLC can see a young guy moving to the next level with a re-sale potential in 2-3 years if required. Makes good business sense!

Your argument is Valid but I think Recber is cheap at 5-8 mil and he is more suited to the English game (height and strength) than the not so bad Barthez, while Duff will be a great player IMO. ;)

I think people should forget Recber. He's stated, a number of times, he's happy at Fener.

He's got a year left on his contract, and he would like a bosman - his club know this and have stuck him on their transfer list because they don't want to lose the money. I don't think he'll hold out for the bosman though, he just wanted to make sure his club would sell him. I still expect him to come to us. He talked a lot about wanting to move to a big club, and Fener aren't that. BTW do you really think we will only strengthen the defence? A 4th striker is a certainty now imo, with Yorke going to Blackburn. And a goalie is the most vital part in a defense, so Rustu would be a great purchase.

This mornings papers reckon that Fenerbache want to sell him for about 3 million.Instead of letting him go on a free next summer.

Fernebache are currently playing in the Alpen Cup in Innsbruck - a four team tournament with Feyenoord, Kaiserslautern and HSV. All four have put out strong teams included most first teamers. I haven't yet seen Recber and they've all played 2 matches. I guess he could have been given a rest after the WC though.
