VIEIRA HITS OUT AT GUNNERS SUPREMO:

Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira feels he does not get the respect he deserves from club chairman Peter Hill-Wood.

Vieira is not happy about comments attributed to Hill-Wood concerning the money the Frenchman earns at Highbury.

"Hill-Wood continues to make comments which I am not happy about at all," Vieira told the Daily Mirror.

"He said that if I wasn't content with the money I was earning then I could leave.

"But he always seems to wait until I am out of the country playing for France before saying anything.

"It is a total lack of respect and I really do not appreciate it."

Vieira has made it clear he wants to stay at Arsenal but would leave if the club decided to cash in on one of their biggest assets.

"If Arsenal come and say to me 'Madrid want you and they are going to give us the money we need' I am going to go.

"I know Madrid wanted me and you have to think about it when a club like that comes for you. If Arsenal tell me they are ready to let me go then something is broken between me and the club which means I will go.

"It would hurt me to accept it - although I would go where I wanted to, not where they told me to go.

"But the club know I want to stay and I know they want me to stay, which seems a good start. It could take us just two meetings to sort it out.

"Arsenal and I have talked three times and with the FA Cup final, my work in Senegal and the boss's holiday, that will take us until after pre-season training before we can start to talk about a new contract again.

"I am in a good position, contract-wise. I don't see myself playing for any team other than Arsenal, especially when I am playing at Highbury and you hear the crowd singing my song.

"However, I work in the real world of football. If you ask me can I see myself playing for Manchester United, I would say 'no chance'. But you never know. Sol Campbell came to us from Tottenham and we live in a life where things like that happen."

Vieira is ambitious, with the Champions League title at the top of his want list, and will made sure Arsenal's directors share his ambitions before signing a new deal.

"I am going to ask them about the next four or five years. If I want to be part of it, I need to know what is going on," he said.

Leaves the door open for us

After what he said about our rubbish football?!! He can feck off!

Hahahahah... talk about hedging your bets... he hasn't ruled it out which means he is definitely interested... who cares what he said abt our boring football... hes a top top player and i'd love him to come to United over 99% of the top players out there...

It'd be interesting if he didn't sign and United offered arsenal £30m. arsenal might be forced to take it. However wenger may threaten resignation to stop it... it'd be like a soap opera :)

Ive never been a Veira fan. Ever. Its not because hes an Arse player but because I dont rate him as a player. I'd take Ray-charlie-Dimmock-Parlour before I'd take Viera. I believe hes an overrated player who coasts on his reputation rather than drive and ambition.

If I had to pick a successor to Keano (if thats what we're talking here) then I'd pick the Scouse cnut Gerrard everytime. Hes twice the player Viera is, despite being a scouser.

Bollocks. Viera is class - it is no coincidence that Arsenals drop off at the end of the title coincided with his lack of fitness. would be a gret signing for Utd.

Interestingly Martin Edwards admitted in a side refence that Utd. had tried to sign him in 2001 just before they got Veron but that Arse would not sell him. If Real do move for Becks I would expect to see Utd. move for Viera.

It would be fantastic......Arsenal would be ruined! All the building Wanker.....I Wenger has done will be out the window......Just like when Newcastle sold Cole and Keegan was out and they had to rebuild AGAIN!

as vieira says, let's live in the real world, vieira will never come to utd,ok he's threatening to quit arsenal, but they'll give him what he wants and yet again false hopes. He would be one of the few players in the world to improve our midfield and i think we will move for him if and when he comes available.but not for a few years,we still have keano..

hehehee nice one, viera would be amazing but he is a bit outspoken and i would be pissed as an arsenal fan hearing some of his comments

He is one of the best DM in the world, but I think he just doesn't fit in MU style. JOS is going to be the best DM in the world in few years. Meanwhile, we have Butt and Keano.

If i could have any player in the world it would be this man, for the sheer reason of i see so much of keane in him, passion, and a drive for success that is the foundation for a great player and combined with his all round play he would be an ideal signing for us.

if Viera go to Real Madrid next seson..

Arsenal will be severely weakened..
Real will get stronger..

so....
this should be a good news or a bad news to us?

He would be a good signing, but unlikely- Arsenal would allow Real to sign him before us.

Its an unhealthy sign for Arsenal to have these public statements attacking each other, they are obviously not as tight an outfit as United. Fergie and Becks might have had their differences, but the don't go to the press, they work it out themselves.

Even Pires might go:

http://www.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=147072&cpid=8&title=Pires+in+Real+admission

Peter hill sounds like they may be sold.

FFS if Viera reaches Real it would be nearly impossible for other teams to stop them.Viera is the best player in England and we must get him first if he decides to move out of Arsenal

let's nor forget guys that vieira openly admitted he wanted to join manchester utd last summer.Arsenal gave him captain's armband, but utd have outdone arsenal this year both domestically and in europe.Viera may still want to go.But arsenal simply wouldnt sell to utd.

real want wenger to replace del bosque.I wonder if he'll go and take viera with him.If wenger does go Utd must move for viera quick.

You're on your own there pal, everyone knows what Viera's worth to Arsenal is and I'd give a limb for United to sign this guy! I'd forgive and let him play great rubbish football!
