Victor Osimhen

I didn't say he's not better, just that it won't be much better for the team. He might get a few more goals but who will be setting up the multitude of goals he'd need to make a big difference from our star-studded squad?
I think it’s a combination of things. Sure, the wingers aren’t good enough. But I would argue a bigger affect on attacking play, is either the wrong run or the wrong timing of the run that makes the balls into the box look worse. Anyhow, at this point, even marginal gains are needed.

No ST Is getting done in January unless it’s a bad loan deal like the Weghorst one. ST is the hardest position to get mid season. Who’s letting go of someone that’s banging in goals for them.

My initial reaction was to dismiss this as fake but it’s actually probably true, thinking about it. He’s going to be available soon and we need a striker. It’s a good fit in many ways. I’d imagine that Omar Berrada and co have spoken to the player and probably had some discussions with Napoli (not just about him but possibly also Rashford and Shaw).

He’s very well paid at Napoli. Apparently Chelsea and United are his two favourite childhood teams but he turned down Chelsea in the Summer (though they lowballed him quite significantly). I would suspect that we’ve indicated a fairly reserved wage as an opening gambit and he’s replied that it’s not even close.

It also makes sense for him to stay at Gala for the season and wait and see whether United shapes up in a better way.

This is what I keep saying about our fans, if that same source said Osimhen ready to join, you wouldn't belive it and you'd say "let Ornstein or Romani confirm it" but something negative and you believe it instantly.

Maybe its a good thing he reportedly rejected us. Maybe we're finally getting tough in the market.

For a player that's desperate to leave Napoli, he sure loves rejecting moves away.

We have clearly been creating changes we just haven't got a proper number nine that can get in the right place to finish them.

Hojlund is far to raw and would be better served being our number two for the time being

Who would be the ideal striker for this system?

“United want you Victor”
“Cool. I want 150k though”
“They can’t afford more than 95k”
“No then”

”UNITED IN THE MUD!!”

These are contradictions. In the first one we are in contact with representatives, will meet personal demands and just need to hash it out with the club. In the other, we have agreed with the club, but Osimhen says no?

What's next? Osimhen wants to come, deal not a problem, but Amorim says no? Club hierarchy and player keen, but Sir Jim feels we need someone English?

No one knows anything.

Wouldnt be surprised that players turn down the possibility of joining a relegation battling side.

I'd love to see more news in future about players rejecting us because we're not agreeing to their obscene wage demands

Shame he isn’t like Ohgalo - a die hard Utd fan just desperate to play for us…..
He is supposedly a childhood United fan, but he's also a fan of money.

We're forgetting that Raheem Sterling was a diehard childhood United fan, and he's played for Liverpool, City, Chelsea and Arsenal

I don't really have any concerns over his attitude. He messed up his last chance for a big move and as a result has ended up in Turkey.

However I like the way he got his head down and has gone about his business playing football.

I doubt he will mess up another chance to get a big move.
