Chievo striking prodigy Victor Obinna has admitted he dreams of playing for Manchester United.

The Nigerian youngster bagged a late double at Livorno last weekend to take his tally to four goals in two games.

Many clubs have been alerted by the former Enyimba attacker's form but Internazionale already have an agreement to bring the 19-year-old to the Giuseppe Meazza.

"Big clubs? Yes, it's the dream for everybody, also for me," he said.

"But I am happy at Chievo and I know I still have much to learn.

"If I had to choose from the big clubs, I'd say Manchester United."

Anyone know anything about him?

And not to be confused with Ribena

He's very promising, probably the best young talent we have in Nigeria. It is true that Inter have an agreement mind, but i don't know how strong it is if he is able to make comments like the one above.

He's scored quite a few goals for Chievo in the last year, and had a good African Nation's Cup in January, despite not starting the tournament in the first team, he forced himself in and scored a few important and good goals.
He's amazingly fast with very good upper body strength, and can also play out wide.

Hope this helps.

Got him in my PES6 team, very pacy. Sign him! Sell Rooney!
I use him on the side midfield position. He is useless up strike. He has great pace though. :wenger:

I want to play for United.

Sign me up.

"I watch all Man Utd matches on TV," Obinna told Gazzetta dello sport.

Glory supporter. Get down to the stadium when you can!

You'd think he'd make more of an effort wouldn't you.

Bump

I think this guy looks a player - has looked dangerous when I've seen West Ham play (not much admittedly) was excellent on the left against us (bullied fabio) and has done well against premier league opposition - think he has 5 goals in his last 2 games - you hear whispers of attitude problems but with the right management he could be a player - could be very good on the left of an attacking 3 I think

Think West Ham is about his level, seems to show up and play when he chooses, not good enough for a big team in my opinion

He's better than West Ham but I agree that he's not good enough for a top side.

Maybe slightly better, think a mid table to lower table side would be his level. Has often been more of a luxury player than anything for West Ham this season and a side fighting against relegation can't reall afford that. Has looked good at times but all too often has been nowhere to be seen for 90 minutes, credit where credit is due he has been very good in his last two games

Defensive liability, terrible decision-making and wildly inconsistent.

I dont see why?

Its not like West Ham are set up like say QPR where Taarabt has license not to track back as such. The team as a whole provide the cover to allow him to roam. Surely given West Hams system its essential all their players show the defensive side to their game?

Read my previous post, there is no denying that he is more of a luxury player than anything and that is simply not what West Ham need being in a relegation battle. But come on, we are judging an attacking midfielder/striker here, and I think basing any opinion on him on things like being a 'defensive liability' is kind of getting into semantics.

Would you criticize a better striker at a better team on his lack of defensive instincts? I doubt it.

I would and have done in the past. Ive seen Berba get it in the ear for this many times on the CAF.

Well guess its a personal opinion then because that is certainly not something that would stand out for me when judging a striker. Fair enough if it was glaringly obvious that they completely shunned their defensive duties to a ridiculous extent then yeah I would have an issue with that.

But as far as Obina is concerned I think it is a rather random comment to make unless the other poster has watched him play over the past few years which I doubt. He has only been at West Ham a wet day and I have never noticed that he is a 'defensive liability' anytime I have seen him play.

Nah thats pretty much my opinion aswell. To be fair to Brwned he isnt prone to throw away statements, he's probably watching him since his Chievo days! ;)
