Shaven-headed Manchester United star Juan Sebastian Veron escapes the pressures of the Premiership — by settling down with the Teletubbies.
The Argentinian hardman, who has struggled since his record £28.1million move from Italy, said the kiddies’ favourites helped keep him sane.
So after playing with midfield team-mates like David Beckham, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes, he relaxes by watching playmates Dipsy, Laa-Laa, Tinky Winky and Po skip across their grassy world.
Veron, 27, said: “Criticism does not bother me. I don’t read newspapers or watch sports programmes on TV. Lately I’ve been busy watching Teletubbies.”
Veron moved from Lazio 15 months ago but flopped in his first season, with United failing to win any silverware.
At the summer’s World Cup the Argentina skipper was substituted at half-time during the 1-0 defeat by England.
But United manager Sir Alex Ferguson backed him, infamously telling critics: “He’s a f***ing brilliant player, yous lot are all f***ing idiots.”
