MANCHESTER UNITED'S £28.1million misfit Juan Veron will have heart-to-heart talks with boss Alex Ferguson about his future.
Argentine midfielder Veron is deeply depressed at having to carry the can if United fail to win a trophy this season and wants to resolve matters before he leaves for the World Cup finals later this month.
His misery culminated in last week's European Cup exit at Bayer Leverkusen after which, it is claimed, he rowed with team-mates in the dressing room and at the airport.
Ferguson does not want to admit defeat by selling Veron, but now recognises there are problems fitting him into the team pattern and that the players are not convinced of his value to the side.
Whether United could get their money back on Veron is debatable and his old club Lazio are heavily in debt.
The Italian giants, however, could offer players such as striker Hernan Crespo in a swap deal.
United spokesman Paddy Haverson insisted talk of a row between Veron and his team-mates was "rubbish".
But he said the same when SunSport revealed Fergie was in discussions about staying on at the club.
