if this doesn't say enough, then you have no faith!

Juan Sebastian Veron has again denied he wants to return to Lazio and insists he is hoping to stay at United for the next five years.
The Argentina star has been at the centre of speculation since the day he moved to Old Trafford for £28million last summer.
But he has again declared his loyalty to United, dismissed links with Lazio and pledged his future to the Premiership.
He said: "Nothing has ever come from my lips that I want to return to Italy.
"I've actually only spoken once to the Italian press since I became a United player.
"All this stuff is made up, pure speculation. It is like a campaign by my old club who want me back.
"(Sergio) Cragnotti, the Lazio president, speaks to the Italian media and maybe what they are doing is creating some kind of positive slant just to divert the attention away from the club's troubles this year."
Meanwhile, Veron is tipping United to bounce back from their first trophyless season in four years.
"You have to accept these things, roll up your sleeves and begin again next year," he told the club's official magazine.
"From bad comes good, you've got to hope that is the case. If we don't win something next year I've got a five-year contract and if we don't win something in five years I will be upset!"

i hope we can all now forget the "inevitable departure" and concentrate on getting behind this lad.

i cant wait to see him against england, hes gonna be so up for it, to show all his doubters.

im irish by the way, we arent really in the world cup anymore ;)

"i cant wait to see him against england, hes gonna be so up for it, to show all his doubters"

How often again ???? None of the doubters said that veron isn`t a worldclass player. He was criticised for his performances in an United shirt. So the only way to show all his doubters is to play well next season for United. If he plays well for argentina at the world cup and plays rather poor for United again, the doubters and critics will be even more.

I don't believe it. It must be just media speculation. And the poster even didn't say where did he quote this interview from! :p

Davo - Do you think Veron's going to have a better season at United this time round?

Well I reckon he'd struggle to do much worse than he's already done...

Still think it will be an unsettling influence and that you'd be better off with your "regular" 4 across the middle..
So I hope he stays

So you think he'll do better.

I'd say a Veron on top of his game adds an extra dimension to our game.

I'm ecstatic about this news.

Aren't you lot signing that shit player who played in that Senegal team? Diao?

He looked terrible.

;)

I'm also very happy about it..

I think you're a bit biased as you love him and seem to think you are him at times.. ;)

Diao was ok, played his part in Senegal beating the WC's...will be useful cover

Useful cover = too shit to get into 1st team.

;)

I think he's just sick of all the media bollox myself.

I reckon if he grew his hair, shaved his beard and didn't wear poofy gold hoop earrings he wouldn't get half the attention he does. ;)

Of course he's staying at United Nazio are skint.

they can't even pay for Stam so how are they going to pay for Veron.

VIVA VERON, GO ON MY SON, SHOW EM WHAT U CAN DO BIG LAD, <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Veron F***ing ran the show against argentina, scholes comes nowhere near him when he in this form (or given free role.

veron was the best palyer on the pitch against argentina, and that tells u something when u have players like batisuta, zanetti, lopez, ortega.

next season might be veron's year. :D

But Sorin did get into th box a shed load, Zanetti was more conservative

Don't think we really can or more importantly should change our system

4-4-2 Rocks <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" /> <img src="graemlins/devil.gif" border="0" alt="[Devil]" /> <img src="graemlins/keano.gif" border="0" alt="[Keano]" />

Yes - but no-one has denied that Veron plays well for Argentina. It still doesn't mean that his style of play will suit Manchester United.

It isn't a question of knocking Veron - he's a great player, but his style of play and ours are different. Either him or us will have to change.

hmmm maybe not his style of play.. coz Argentina knock the ball around fairly quickly..usually its one touch football.. i think he needs to be the focal point.. something he can't be when Keane's around...

i thought he played very wel today.. infact he ran the show against Nigeria.

He certainly did. But that's what we expected.

After the World Cup, if Veron is declared player of the tournament - what then? People will be walking round with smug grins and saying "Told you so" - but it's never been in doubt!!!!! It won't change the fact that he doesn't fit into our midfield with Keane.

good point Livvie. He is an excellent player, but with a team built around him in a formation that gets the best out of him. Should we really change our formation to suit one player?
Besides even though he's good for the Argies, i still dont understand how he could be so sloppy in his play frequently in the season past. The player that plays for Argentina and the player we watched last season in a red top are not the same one! Would the real Seba Veron please stand up?

This post answers all the issues on Veron.

Argentina has worked for eight years now on playing in that formation, they know it inside out and you see how they effortlessly move from defence to attack as a block.

Sorin and Zanetti move back and forth to tilt the balance and Veron runs the show in the middle.

That system is were he will be best utilised, will we use it? I don't think so! It does need a lot of tactical training and discipline and we don't seem to be very good at moving away from anything that isn't 4-4-2.

Beckham Keane Veron Giggs

is a very promising attacking midfield but one you could walk through. Keane is meant to fight it out to get the ball and then hand it over to Veron to run the show. How feasible is that?

I think he is brilliant but will never suit us, rather than get excited with his WC performance we should take advantage of it and sell him for big bucks.

The only reason to hold on to him would be if we are serious about a total changeover in the way we play but that would mean some very tough decisions, patience to wait for it to work (another wasted season) and a lot of money!

He'll have a brilliant world cup without a doubt, he always plays well in the national side

Hopefully he'll impress some scouts looking to offer 28 million for him

Then he can have a great season somewhere else next year

Surely we can work the same type of player that veron is into our 4-4-2.

I really do believe it is possible, and we would be better of for it. We just need JSV to get the ball more, and for RK to win and give it, I know RK is better than just that role, but if you do give JSV the ball you can see how good he is. The main problem in my view is the balance between the roles that RK and JSV play, if they sort it out between the two of them next season we will be awesome. I do feel that DB and RG will have to do a bit more work covering in the middle, something that Beckham would probably enjoy.

Also on Paper, look at JSV and Keane vs. any other CM pairing and it wins in my book.

Also no dissing to Paul Scholes, but he has never dictated a game, and doesn't have the ability to be as influential player as JSV. But don't get me wrong he is class, and that is prob why the RK PS combo works better i.e he is less influential
