I think Veron is a good player, but he can't handle the pace of the Best league in the world. But i havent heard transfer speculation about him (maybe im wrong), but is he staying again for another season? If he is then i hope he proves me wrong and plays great football but i cant see that happening.
ANY THOUGHTS? :D

Why what have i said to warrant being told to feck off. Im expressing an opinion about a player who just hasnt performed for United

theres not many people on this board will agree with you on this one... apart from Stan ;)
In his first season i really wondered what we bought, but last season i have to hold my hands up and admit he was fantastic, especially in Europe.
I dont think anyone would like to sell him

Well thank you. All i wanted was peoples opinions and i think he hasnt warranted a first team place and being good in Europe isnt enough. Cheers

he made such an improvement last season, showed a lot of desire.
I think he'll be even better next season

Without him (or a player like him), we wouldn't have been able to successfully move to the 4-5-1 system as effectively as we have. The same thing goes for RVN. Although RVN could have played in a 4-4-2 just as easily, he is one of the very few centre forwards that is capable of scoring so many goals playing up front on his own. It doesn't surprise me that they are both playing in the same team.

It's a shame we never had him for the match in Madrid and fully fit for the match in Old Trafford. I feel the result might have been different.

should knock another 12 months out of him anyway. Give the man a chance.

He's looked absolutly word class in Europe. And the passion he showed against Real Madrid at OT when not fully fit after not playing for two months should convince that his heart is in it too. Even Casillas admits that he doesn't know how he stopped that piledriver of a shot that could have made things very different too.

Also, remember the game against Arsenal at OT when we won 2-0. People remember that great performance from Phil Neville, but who was playing beside him, and scored one of the goals? Phil was looking after Vieira, but who was orchestrating the attack? Verón.

Between Dec...till his injury, he looked the part in PL n'all.... but in CL, he's on another level(he and Ruud have been our best players in Europe)

His celebration was awesome!

Premiership the best league in the world .Veron is our best player in Eroupe and has performed superbly in the PL.

What's with all this passion bullshit? Veron was pants against Real. Lacking match fitness yes, but still pants. End of.

That's taking it too far, he wasn't at his best no, but "pants" is one hell of an exageration. He hadn't played for two months FFS! Scholes was out too, we had a seriously depleated theam that night.

RVN is our best player in Europe, and Veron has been average, yet improving, in the PL.

I know he hadn't played for seven weeks. But that doesn't make a bad performance good, just explains it.

Look at what you replied to and the way you put it:

You replied:

RVN is our best player in Europe, and Veron has been average, yet improving, in the PL.

That is ambiguous.

If Veron is average in Eroupe, the all the other midfielders playing in Eroupe are shite.Opta stats on CL,say that he is the best Central Midfielder in Eroupe having the highest pass completion rate, goals plus assists. You must also remember that majority of Veron's balls are long/Creative ones which are difficult to pull off.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't see anything wrong with that.

FFS!!

WHEN did I say Veron's been average in Europe? Just because I think Ruud's been better doesn't mean that I think Veron hasn't been great. In Europe, that is.

It was just a misunderstanding.

It stems from the fact that you tried to address two different points in the same sentence. One the disagreement that Verón was our best player in Europe and the other that he was not superb in the PL. Yet, you didn't quite address it right, you left an ambiguity in the middle.

Nothing.

But there are people on this board who don't believe in the right of free speech, and who aren't capable of responding with an alternative viewpoint, thus encouraging debate.

You will find something akin to mild hysteria greets negative Veron posts. Don't worry about it.

And this is off to the Transfer Forum.

I read that Veron dropped his previous agent who was fueling rumours that he was unhappy and wanted to return to Italy.

I have no doubt that Veron is an excellent player but I am very disappointed that he only switches on in CL and internationals, not in Premier League. It comes to my mind that he is marketing himself profusely when playing at higher level. Secondly, his style doesn't fit too well with Man Utd, where quick, forward, short and long passes prevail. He prefers to play short, knock-back, Argentina style of play. I appreciate his contribution, but the existing Man Utd players don't seem to adapt to his style. I wud sacrifice him for another holding midfield and leave the creativity to Scholes, Beckham, or our new striker/playmaker. We have shown our weakness in holding/winning possession against Real, but never lack creativity in getting forward, even after Veron's substitution.

i'm a fan of veron..really hope he will finally perform to his best next season..

if he fail to perform again..i think we should consider selling him..but i've a feeling he will be a very important player for us next season!
