United's Argentinian midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron will still face charges over allegations concerning his acquisition of a false Italian passport.

The United star and various officials from his former club, Lazio - including owner Sergio Cragnotti - will have their cases heard in Rome on December 12.

Veron's Italian citizenship allowed Lazio to sign an extra non-EU player under restrictions which applied in Serie A during Veron's two years in Rome.

Cragnotti had been charged seperately but a judge ruled in a Rome court on Thursday that his case should be linked to those involving Veron, two Lazio directors, two agents, two Argentinian legal advisors and a local council official.

Veron should not be expected to attend the hearing on December 12.
