Vazquez took this one with a TKO in the 6th.
When they fought in March Marquez won with a TKO in the 7th. The fight was stopped on that occasion when Vazquez couldn't continue because his nose was so badly broken that one nostril was blocked completely and the other one was working at 10% capacity (I don't know how they can work that out but anyway). Basically, during that fight they just stood there and beat the crap out of each other.
The rematch last Saturday was just as good, if not better, and the third round has to go down as round of the year. Vazquez just kept coming and staggered Marquez on a number of occasions. Marquez was fantastic too. I just wish all boxing matches were like this one. The only problem from my perspective was that I felt the referee jumped in too early to stop it. Marquez was reeling and was staggering against the ropes while Vazquez was moving in for the kill. If Marquez would have gone down instead of trying to stay on his feet he could have taken an 8 count and carried on, but the ref just jumped in. They have both already said that they will have a third fight. If you get the chance to watch that then don't miss it.
