Varane open to leaving Madrid in summer 2016..

Apparently City have activated Laporte's buyout clause. If so and Raphael is available he'd be the best choice to get. Having working with Jose (wasn't he a big reason why he chose Madrid in the first place) maybe he'll be tempted to reunite with him.

I think Zidane was the deciding factor in him choosing Madrid over us IIRC.
But Mourinho put him in the first team and he played often when he was there, so hopefully he'll want to work with Jose again.

Varane & Mike Smalling would be an ideal partnership.

He's what we're crying out for at the back.
So someone is playing us again. If Real sell they are mad. He will come out of it with reassurances that he will play. Pep and City just get it done and we will dither about and tease about who we are after and do sod all. Laporte would be the easiest transfer to do yet we will go for the difficult ones.

As a striker.. I would be bricking it having to get past those two. 1 v 1 two of the toughest pair of defenders in the game today.

Searing pace with him and Smalling at the back. Him or Marquinhos; make it happen, Mou.

M.E.N are quoting reports in Spain but I can't find any.

Smalling would be the Vidic mold, and Varane would be the Rio mold.
Then we get Shaw back, and another RB all in front of DDG and our defence will be sorted

Yep, spot on!

This is insane but predictable. Perez buying every flavour of the month without actually considering how they'll all fit in leads to this. Add him to the list with Isco, Jamez and Gotze from Bayern.

I don't think he is that good, but if he wants to leave we must be high on his list, with Mourinho coming in the summer.

Laporte, for example is better at everything, except pace and I'm sure there are more young CBs out that are ate least as good as him and wouldn't cost and arm and a leg.

Think it's more likely either Pepe leaves or becomes back up only. According to wiki Varane has more league appearances this year than Ramos or Pepe though?

Minutes played:

Varane (2169' - 1732' La Liga, 437' Champions League)
Ramos (1919' - 1500' La Liga, 419' Champions League)
Pepe (1802' - 1437' La Liga, 277' Champions League, 88' Copa del Rey)

Some dodgy defending from him at the weekend to give away the penalty against Sevilla.

It happens a lot with him, he's nowhere near the top center back some here think he is. Also, while he's an athletic player, his strength is not that great.

That's what I thought, I've seen him make quite a few mistakes. Granted he'd be a upgrade on the likes of Jones and Rojo at CB but he's not as good as some think. Highly doubt he'd leave anyway, Real will be swapping around their team this summer and will want to build the defence around him.

Also how much would he cost? He is contracted until 2020? I can understand Laporte might want to play for Pep, but what about when he swans off in three years time? Laporte off to Barcelona? I am sure his agents will be looking to do that. He will then be in his prime.

It's the Metro. He isn't going to leave Real. The quotes from him say he's happy at Real and isn't having any headaches over his situation.

He plays most often out of their centrebacks, Pepe is 33 too. Hardly any reason for him to leave.

 while we are at it, can we have Modric too please? It is bollocks and/or contract renewal time.

Worst source ever definitely lies.

What a summer it's going to be:drool: James, Götze, Isco, Varane, Pogba, Greizmann, Laporte and talents like Sanchez, Dembele, Niguez up for grabs:drool:

He is very, very overrated but People love young fast players...

City is already getting linked to dozens of players the majority of whom they will not sign.

Is he "open" to leaving Real in the same manner Ramos was open last summer?
I didnt know his contract was up for renegotiation already.

I'd rather laporte anyways.

He is 22 that's not the age of a top defender.

I do think he is slightly overrated but that is due to his age and the fact playing for Madrid adds the extra hype. But he is well on his way to being a top defender and if he is available, we can't go amiss not signing him.

Would you rather Stones or Varane for 40m? (Both are Mourinho's interests)

Remember when Varane and Nastasic were thought as 2 best potential CBs in world, one is right footed other left. One is broken due injuries today and Varane seems dropped form wise and stopped progressing (at least thats what i heard).
