More suggestion in the press Ruud may be coming back to the Premiership, with Spurs.

There seems to be a lot of weight in this as he's been linked with them now for a good three years on and off, I think Redknapp has realised his crop of Crouch, Defoe, Pavyluchenko etc aren't good for more than 30 goals between them a year.

Thing is, at 35, can Ruud provide Spurs the firepower they visibly lack?

Ruud van Nistelrooy last night opened the door to a move to Tottenham, declaring he would love to finish his career in England.

The Dutch striker left Manchester United for Real Madrid in 2006 after a bust-up with Reds manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Van Nistelrooy plundered 46 goals in 68 games for Real, but at Hamburg this season he has been restricted to only19 Bundesliga outings – finding the net just seven times.

Chelsea’s Didier Drogba is Spurs boss Harry Redknapp’s preferred striking target, but the Holland ace is a tasty cut-price alternative for a club who have been in for him twice before.

Van Nistelrooy, 34, said: “Spain would be great, but in the Premier League I have many good contacts. I will be a free agent this summer, with concrete offers.”

Elsewhere, Spurs face a fight with Inter Milan for Bologna’s 20-year-old Uruguayan playmaker Gaston Ramirez, while Redknapp may struggle to keep Sandro after AC Milan targeted the Brazilian as an option if they can’t get Chelsea’s Michael Essien

For free he'd be a good signing for absolutely anyone.

Ruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud!!!!!!

Adebayor he would like to move to Spurs as well.Says Spurs came for him in Jan but City wanted him to go to Madrid.

Would be amazing for Spurs if they get Ruud and Adebayor in summer.

Get him back to OT! Well... If we didn't have about 6 good strikers already.

The guy would be an incredible asset to whoever signed him, if he goes to Tottenham, he could be one of the signings of the season.

Would love to see him back in the premier league, could still do a right good job.

Hes better than everybody they have right now.

I think Adebayor to Spurs would be a good thing for Spurs as well. Embarrassing for the Spurs fans who will have to cheer him though, those that were chanting at him anyway.

Huge soft spot for Ruud. I know his attitude towards end stunk but I think he has always regretted what happened and has always had United in his heart. Would hate to see him line up against us :(

On the other hand would be great to see him in the premier league.

Ruud would be pure quality for them, but shouldn't be depended on for all the goals. They'll still need a 30+ game striker. Ruud is still injury prone and who knows how long he'd last. Saying that, when he's fit, he's scoring goals for fun.

Ade would be funny and he'd just make Arsenal fans hate him more. I do enjoy Spurs and good ole' 'Arry so I don't want to see him there. He'd play well for a bit and then get moody.

Anelka would be interesting for them and should be off after this season. Some link him to MLS, but he'd still do a job for Spurs.

Forlan is still in the picture it would seem as well.

I laughed about AC getting Essien - don't see that happening.

Offload Owen and get Ruud to OT, sorted.
