Apparently (www.onefootball.com - don't have actual link to hand), Van Gaal made it a condition of his arrival that Kluivert & Rivaldo leave.

Do we want either of them:
Rivaldo: injury prone, not a team player, too old
Kluivert: said he'd play for Arse b4 us (allegedly), bit of a moaner, also said he'd love to play with Van Nistelrooy

??

Kluivert away?
dont believe it. he played when van Gaal was coach at Ajax.

And if he leaves... he's one of the best forwards in the world. Barca could get very very rich

Kluivert misses too many goals.
Rivaldo not a team player ? Are you kidding? <img src="graemlins/annoyed.gif" border="0" alt="[Annoyed]" />

Did you see how he single handedly got Barca into the champion's league last season when all looked lost?
]
He has been the heart and soul of the Barca
team. Like Keane is at United. Besides, Fergie wouldn't rate him so highly if he was not brilliant and team player. He is the only one who woul replace Cantona once and for all. Besides, his just had a bad season with injury which wsasn't the case last term. Fergie get him ASAP!!!!

Err, a player who single handedly takes his team to the Champions League isn't a team player... He scored 3 including a stunning winner a minute from time, but what has the club achieved during his years there?

A fantastic player, but not a team player.

Kluivert is barca's topscorer and Rivaldo is definetly NOT a team player.
Too many times he does things on his own, and thanks to his teammates he gets away with it.
If barca wouldn't have a controlling midfielder (Cocu / Coco) they would get in to trouble so often. They do all the dirty work...

Amir, you don't in World player of the year by being individualistic. Why do you think Becks always qualifies to that elite list ahead of more skilled men than Totti or Veron when Lazio won in europe plu the scudettor Raul of Madrid inthe past? <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" /> <img src="graemlins/nono.gif" border="0" alt="[No No]" />

i'd like to see PK come in. he could be something special. down side include - inconsistant , and his attitude. if saf could in some way turn his attitude around he'd be a great addition. every striker misses sure goals , yes even ruud!

not that it means nowt but he was born on the same day as rvn.

Do you too think that Fergie would rate an Individualistic player as the best in the World ?HUH?

just admit it, even if your a rivaldo fan (wich you clearly are), he's a solo-man all the way.

Rivaldo has great individual ability but that doesn't mean he doesn't play with the team. Its actually the opposite, his supreme ability allows him to bring his team mates into play in more creative ways, which is what we desperately need.

He can provide a great link from attack and midfield.

Unfortunately the rumours are that Rivaldo in means Veron = out. Frankly I would expect alot of money as part of that package. I think this is one of the more likely transfers out of the ones rumoured - this ones been coming for a long time. Just depends on Rivaldo's demands - he shouldn't come close to Beckham/Keane. No doubt he is a great player though. Dont know how he'd like Manchester and its weather, but he would handle the EPL style easy. He has strength, vision and skill enough to handle this league better than Veron IMO. He could do for us what Bergkamp does for Arse.

at last some one who knows Rivaldo!

Veron would go no where.
We would just sign Rivaldo for 28m, Ayala for 15, and Finnan, Petzlogu and Duff for another 15m. Almost the same as what we spent this season bearing in mind the money we will receive for selling people.

NB: Rivaldo would give us cover for Giggs :)

one thing taht is the difference between Veron And Rivaldo, rivaldo never loses thh ball (ala keane), i ll goive one surefire proof, watch him against Liverpool, everything went through him.

he completey set the tempo in that match.
liverpool who a re defensive formation team with two defensive players, could not get the ball back and were chasing shadows.

Flair wise i reckon rivaldo is better than Zidane. Teams would just see the names of our teamsheet and shit it!, who do they mark, becks, giggs, rivaldo, RVN, hell even veron, scholes.

all in all we would rip apart teams like real.
then even just one defender would do, as an addition cus team would have to resort to long ball situations
which outr defense is ok wi th dealing with.

I dont think thee is any way that Rivaldo will play on the left for us, he doesn't like it.

I think its 80+% certain that Rivaldo is out, the fans dont like him, he isn't too fond of them etc and he seems to be generally unappreciated in Barcelona - sounds weird doesn't it cos he has done so much for them.

I dont know if he could come here though, I'm sure he'd be loved here and maybe play even better, but that price and those wages?

He would play behind RVN so that play can go through him. But that would mean one of our midfield has to go. Beckham and Keane are definite, Giggs most likely on left, Scholes, Butt and Veron would have to battle it out. Thats just not gonna happen.

Veron will come good next year but he cant give us what Rivaldo gives us, he plays differently, not so forward, not so dynamic and unpredictable - just what we lack. But Veron is great in his own way, in a more controlling position.

I'd love to see all these world class players here, but I dont think our board would allow Rivaldo unless someone leaves.

Jesus Christ Kemo, thats a lot of bloody spending. United don't need Rivaldo, no matter how brilliant of a player he is--and he is one of the best. Kluivert would be great, for I think he is a magical player, but I would prefer a much younger striker given that Ole and Ruud are playing brilliantly together--thus, Cisse would be ideal. Furthermore, if United decide to go for a RB, they won't need both Finnan and the unspellable Greek guy. The Greek guy is a better player, but hasn't played in England, which Finnan has. However, Finnan is no improvement over Gary, so what's the point.

Pro's
Rivaldo can do things which other players simply dream of doing and can change a game at the drop of a coin.
Kluivert and Van Nistelrooy have already got experience of playing together in the dutch national squad, so a partnership is already there.
Cons
Rivaldo could be an expensive buy with the added con of being a bit prone to injury.
Kluivert is a bit like Coley plenty of pase and good in the air, but it takes plenty of chances for him to score.

But Barca may be looking for a quick sale to raise funds.

good points Math. Kluivert is a fantastic player & has that added edge that we miss:ariel ability
Youre right about the rightback position, but we do need someone who can cover.Unless Fergies plans on moving Nev inside that is.

why would Rivaldo cover Giggs, when youve already bought Duff????

Kluivert should play for Arse because he is an Arse <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

Seriously though, remember when he was playing for Milan before joining Barca, he was on his to Old Trafford, he then let SAF down by joining Barca. I think SAF would be the last man in the world to sign him.
