Not sure if its been posted before but what were the chances of that?

Edwin was the biggest bargain of all time. We got him from freaking Fulham for peanuts. Fergie was truly something else...

2 of the greatest keepers and they both played for United within a decade of each other. Big Pete still the greatest of all time for me.

bosnich, massimo taibi, barthez and howard,
sometimes it was just the right place at the right time kind of thing. Signing Vidic was the one that got me. when i read 'he's a mix of john terry and rio ferdinand'. .

Before he signed for us, my thoughts on Edwin was that he was a decent stop gap goalkeeper, but the Glazers were penny pinching and we couldn’t go for the flashier names.

Within half a season I was wondering why we didn’t sign him sooner instead of having the likes of Howard and Carroll in goals for several seasons. When he retired, he became my favourite keeper ever

Onana was also on the same street but unfortunately he let Van Der Sar slip by him and he missed Schmeichel completely.
No he was actually further up the street with David Beckham showing him how to score from a free kick

Wholesome to see how they are as happy randomly meeting each other in a street as fans would be to randomly see them.

Edwin was our best keeper ever, in my opinion. What I’d give to have that level of calmness and organisation at the back now instead of scatterbrain McWalkabout

We waited six full years to find the proper replacement for Schmeichel. We were actually supposed to get Edwin after Schmeichel but he went to Juve instead.

Too young to remember Schmeichel at United but having van der Sar was so great and all those games we went without conceding in 08/09 is still incredible record. Just realised van der Sar never won the Fa Cup, guess he's into that category of few of our great players who never won it - George Best, van der Sar, Vidić, Evra (possibly someone else). Won everything else though.

Feels weird to think Schmeichel wasn't as tall as you'd think. But then Van der Sar was a giant!

One the all time worst decisions to replace Schmeichel with Bosnich! But then we didn't quite have the extreme money we've frittered the last decade and also we had a genius of a manager who could disguise our weaknesses.

Schmeichel was an even greater bargain than VDS then there’s Cantona, Irwin, Ronaldo, Solskjaer, Vidic, Evra and Kanchelskis but you are right in that Sir Alex was simply god like.

Yup. Nobody comes close to SAF. I honestly for the life of me can’t see how anybody can put Guardiola above him.

To be fair he should never have been playing for Fulham at that time he was far too good to be there

Guardiola is a great coach and tactician but he only managed the big clubs with a lot of money. He needs a lot of money to win things. SAF did wonders with Aberdeen and he transformed the struggling Man Utd side to become a dominant force in English and European football.

SAF also made a lot of average players look like they were world class. Just look at that 12-13 title winning side. We won the title with the likes of Phil Jones, Smalling, Cleverly, Wellbeck, Rafael and 40 year old Giggs starting for us. Only SAF could win the Prem with that kind of squad.

All of these transfers were great and along with VDS transfer, I believe that Vidic's transfer was the biggest bargain. He came from a Russian league and was largely unknown. He came for a very small fee and somehow didn't caught the attention of other big clubs despite being 24 at that time.

Both were great! Onana is crap, he looks to muscular to be a goalkeeper. Not sure what the hell ETH sees in him. ETH is a very poor judgement of talent e.g. Antony, Hoijund, Onana, Malacia and etc.

Agreed. His team put 8 past Arsenal with Cleverley and Ando in midfield and Welbeck up front. He had Evans, Jones, and Smalling starting as well. I know it was a weak Arsenal as well, but still…
